  1. burundi, in my experience of dealing with the galaxy engine (very little) the only way to check it properly is to remove all the belts including timing belt remove the bottom pulley and inspect it, after inspection slide it back onto crank and check for play, if you dont strip it all down youll never be 100% sure if its the pulley or not.
  2. removed the timing belt yesterday and it turns out the bottom pulley was worn, been a exelent find this forum. so hopefully new pulley and it will be sorted, dodge hope you get yours sorted soon.
  3. my mate has a s reg 90 bhp tdi galaxy, it is a pig to start, just had new heater plugs fitted, but had major problems today was driving along and had a massive loss of power with loads of the white smoke coming out of exhaust, if he dropped a gear and floored it it would drive normal untill he took foot off acelerator then no power and loads of smoke, when he loses power he said was some funny noises coming from engine, possibly turbo. any ideas what this could be, im thinking may be crank pulley has corroded and is slipping under engine load
