  1. Hello people, back again!! Just picked up kids from school and drove home. As i got to my drive i engaged reverse and no movement from the gal, only a hell of a lot of v6 noise. It did creep backwards at 5ooo rpm but not even enough torque to take it up a slightly raised kerb. All other gears work fine. Searched the forum and can't find anything similar. Any advice would be good. Cheers.
  2. Thanks again vanbursta, looked on the website but no prices. How much did you get yours replaced for and how much did fraud charge to re programme?
  3. Thanks Vanbursta, the jobs still a pain in the A*** though. Heater matrix one day, water pump the next and then the central locking ecu AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  4. The V6 is chain driven so no cam belt. Hope i dont have to drop the engine mounts etc!!
  5. The unit is definately under the seat, its says "contr asy-r/contr LK & LK alarm sys mn" if this helps.
  6. It must control the central locking etc as i cant lock the car now!! I discontected the battery before any work was carried out. I have disconected it again and left it for half an hour but when connected the clicking starts again. Think i'm gonna write a film."A CAR NAMED S#*T.
  7. :) Can it get even worse. Since posting the last item about the water pump the ECU under the passenger seat has begun to constantly click like e relay. There is a relay next to it but thats fine, its the ECU itself. Any ideas anyone. I'll have built the bloody thing from scratch in a bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Sorry Sepulchrave, its the O/S. Brain gone into meltdown over the 2 days!
  9. Hello again people. Well I've just replaced the heater matrix (2 days) and now i've noticed a small leak that i can only assume is from the water pump (fns of gal). Will it never end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've searched the forum but can't find anything on the V6 re water pump change. Has anyone changed one or know how to. Thanks in advance. Ps its a MK1 2.8.
  10. I had the same problem. The retaining clips had broken away. The solution i used was to wrap a cable tie around the outer case of the maf, a cable tie around the hose leading into the maf and then a final tie which threaded between the two and pulled tight. No more gap. Hope this helps if the clips are broken.
  11. Better get it bought then. Let the nightmare begin!!!!!
  12. It's a 2.8 Mk1 Galaxy auto. I have never seen what you are refering to. Is it a disk that you put onto your pc? Cheers, mint.
  13. Cheers Vince, nothing is ever easy on these things!! Installing a combi in the boot might be easier! LOL.
  14. :D Hello everyone, well it seems the enevitable happened. Just got off the M1 and the Gal decided to dump the coolent from the matrix into the N/S footwell. Good job the missus was in the back with the kids or serious burns to her legs i think! I've bypassed the matrix joining the hoses together so at least i can use it for the summer. Does anyone have a step by step guide to remove the dash? I've seen previous posts abd it seems a bitch of a job. Cheers, Mint, (One failure after another). Think i might change my user name to this!
  15. Just purchased and hopefully on its way, Gotta be cheaper than
