  1. Bought some from the local Fraud dealers two months ago for about a fiver each.
  2. Air-Con would not work---- just blew out warm air, took it to a specialist near me and after 1 1/2 hours of investigation it turned out to be the relay for the compressor. Total including re-gas..
  3. Managed to get a brand new Bosch one for
  4. Cheers all, i'll get ringing round, haggling sounds good to me!!
  5. Think i might have a problem with the MAF sensor on my Mk 1 VR6, where would be the best place to get one and how much am i looking at?
  6. Thats a good tip for the future, i've got a sunroof as well, so it might be agood idea to check the drains on that as well. 2.8 v6 Ghia 97 :18:
  7. Thanxs Mumof4, I think i'm begining to see what you mean, i've started to spend a lot of time on here too, spare time??... shows you what i know!!
  8. Hi all, Just getting round to introducing myself after a couple of weeks in the fold!!! My names John and i live in essex and for the past 5 years I(we) have been the proud owners of a '97 v6 ghia (or does it own us)? in fleurie red with blacked out windows and all the gadgets. My wife (who mostly drives her) and me love her very much...even her thirst, (I mean the car)!! Found this site while having problems with the thermostat and the info i found helped me greatly. I do most repairs myself and i have posted my most recent expierences on the forum, hope it can help somebody out. I think how everybody tries to help each other out on here is fantastic, especially as its all spare time stuff. I hope to take part as much as i can, looking forward to hearing from u all John.
  9. Hi Rushy, just had a similar problem with my V6, ie windows and locks all over the place. The water was entering the car due to blocked drains in the scuttle. these can be cleaned properly by removing the inner wheel arch covers to give you access, then using some old metal coathanger, etc, to clean them out. I also took the rubber flaps off as well. The control box printed circuit i cleaned first with wd40 and an earbud, then contact cleaning spray i bought from Maplins. Once dry it all worked ok. Re the window switches, they can be taken apart, slowly! and the contacts and circuit can be cleaned with more contact cleaner and earbuds. It worked for me, good luck. 2.8 v6 Ghia 97 :P
  10. Cold be the thermostat not fully opening, or check inside the expansion tank with the cap off and see if the water pump is circulating the coolant. If the 'stat is open it should all be moving around. It worked for me once, Be careful, use a rag or towel in case of hot coolant splashes, good luck.
