  1. Hi thank you for responding to my question. I have tried the connections suggested but it still will not operate. The only thing I can find in the instructions is a statement Operation of some of the functions of this unit are very complex. Because of this, it was deemed necessary to place these functions into a special screen. This will restrict operation of these functions to times when the vehicle is parked. This ensures the focus of the drivers attention will be on the road and not on the screen. This has been done for the safety of the driver and passengers. The set-up operation cannot be made if the vehicle is moving. The car must be parked and the handbrake engaged for the procedure described in the owners manual to be valid. The warning "Operation is not allowed while driving" will be displayed if any attempts are made to perform this operation while driving. I did try telephoning Alpine but never got through. The technical department was always busy. I therefore emailed Alpine for an answer as this unit is sold as a plug and play system. No response yet
  2. Hi thanks for the reply. The exact wording is Hand Brake Lead Connect this to the power side of the parking brake switch to transmit the parking brake status signals to the TME-M740BT Foot Brake Lead Connect to the vehicles foot brake lead or brake lamp lead
  3. Hi I have reposted this question and tried to explain my question a bit more I will be fitting an Alpine touch screen monitor into the central glove box on my Galaxy Before final fitting into the car I decided to try it out I have a motor cycle battery which I used for the 12V supply The unit switches on and works great the problem happens when I try to use the set-up screen It has a message stating this feature cannot be used whilst the car is in motion There are two cables that normally would connect to the hand and foot brake The instructions state connect this lead to the power supply side of the switch but the is the same as putting a 12V supply onto the connection Does anybody know if this is correct?

  5. Hi I have purchased an Alpine screen with integrated bluetooth. To enable this system to work I have to connect wires to the foot brake lead and the hand brake. The instructions state connect this lead to the power supply side of the switch In the Galaxy do they switch the live or earth?
