Has anyone got any ideas, as this is still happening???

Hi good wise people I have a wierd problem When to start up my Gal yesterday Turned key nothing happened! Wiggles auto lever to drive and back to park Tried again nothing Then thought I'd try waiting Turned Key and held it there, nothing happened for 4 minutes then she started up Had to try it again so switched off and it did exactly the same thing again Approx 4 minutes holding the key at start and she started Any Ideas, I'm getting aching hands now Cheers

1996 Galaxy 2.8 V6 Auto I have a list of faults but will just list a couple here for now 1>Engine runs fine 99.9% of the time Every so often when stopped i.e at traffic lights, reversing from a parking space the engine just cuts out Quick turn of the key and it starts first time and away we go 2>I need an 'O' ring for the oil cooler thingy as it has a slight leak Anyone know where to get one or do I have to replace the whole oil cooler unit Any thoughts?

It was fixed with a new cable supplied by ford Local garage fitted it I don't know how to deselect sport mode, I thought you just didn't put your foot down hard when accellerating?? Cheers

Galaxy 2.8 V6 1996 I have a wierd problem... The other day the throttle cable broke, got it fixed no problem BUT Now it runs in sport mode ALL the time, getting about 10mpg I've been back to the garage, but they are not sure what is causing it Anyone got any ideas?? Please

Anyone know where I get a cheap thrpottle cable for a 95 Galaxy 2.8i V6 CD Any advice appreciated Thanks

Just a quick update Computer says MAF Sensor Open circuit or short to ground We replaced the MAF Sensor (only 15 quid) so thats a bonus What else should I be looking at? (Wiring, Connectors etc) any thoughts? Cheers Paul

haha 00532 was caused by me running a laptop off an inverter from the lighter socket Dooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh Battery was flat when I tried to start the thing Never thought a laptop could consume soooooo much power Paul

Sorry Should have mentioned I cleared the error log and used the car all day then re-read the error log and posted it do any of the errors mean anything to you Cheers Paul

Hi It does change down when I floor the accelerator, but there seems to be a lack of power The ECU you mentioned is that to the right of the battery attached to the engin compartment? with a large connector at the front? Cheers Paul

I have a Ford Galaxy 2.8 v6 Thingy Everything appears to be working apare from a few niggly bits Sometimes when I try to start nothing happens, Shift from Park to Drive and Back and turn key starts first time !! Last week when driving from Weymouth to Penzance, if was struggling to get up hills (MAX 30MPH) Gear changes seem eratic as if it wants to shift between SPORT and GRANNY Mode Fuel consumption has dived to less than 10 MPG Been into garage today and they say nothing major wrong They fixed a couple of "minor" vacumn leaks!!! I drove it home and it's still struggling on hills I would like to diagnose it myself but don't have the connector or software, any ideas? Also the handbrake light comes on after driving for about 10 seconds, and the brakes and ABS are working fine (Did emergancy stop to test them) is there any fault that can bring on the handbrake warning light for no reason ? Please help as I don't ant to scrap the car as mostly it's working great I've taken a picture of the connector under the ashtray, if anyone knows what I need to connect to this please let me know Thanks Paul

I'm still waiting to find out from the garage when they can get a loom from :wacko: Does anyone on here know where I can find a supplier that can search by reg number Mechanic seems to be strugling as ford haven't been able to find the part number Anny thoughts Please Paul

Just walked down to the garage, galaxy pieces everywhere :wacko: This is gonna cost alot, I can tell by all the parts lying around, they've also found that some pipes were not connected :wacko: when they do re-assemble it there might be further problems Is an insurance claim an option? I suppose it was an accident sort off, as it was me who took the connector off to add brake fluid Never considered that I could put in a claim. Oh well Paul
