  2. Hi, thanks, certainly worth baring in mind. Just had a quote from Ford for a replacement door, unpainted, obviously no glass etc
  3. Just to give you all a laugh, I thought I'd explain why I need a new door (please bare in mind the wife normally drives the Galaxy and I drive an unleaded Focus - clue). I was taking the wife and kids to Blackpool for the weekend to see the lights and stopped at my local Tesco to fill up with diesel. Unfortunately I suffered some sort of brainstorm and put
  4. Thanks for all the advice, I really appreciate it. Just out of interest, does anybody know if the door from a MkI would fit the MkII? Just gives me more options. Once again, many thanks.
  5. Sure .... the guys breaking a 2004 MkII ..... the only down side is he's got a low feedback rating so if your interested in anything he's got be sure to view before purchasing (stating the obvious I guess!) ..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=002 Thanks for the advice, much appreciated  Glyn.

  7. Hi, following a 'minor' accident (which I wont go into) I need a replacement drivers door for my 2003 1.9 TDi. I've found one on ebay for
  8. Hi, Thanks for the help .... I still haven't figured it out yet but I'm sure I'll get there. Cheers, Glyn.
  9. lol ..... You Guys :16: Yep, can see below the gaiter there is a metal ring around the botom of what may be the knob - hard to tell as can't see if this part is a continuation of the knob or just buts upto it. If it is and needs to be removed, how can I get the ring off - it looks fairly solid with no breaks? Just plier it off? Thanks, Glyn.
  10. Hi, Tried that ... and twisting, pulling .... no apparent screw fixing that I can see, I'm baffled. Every other car I've owned the gear knob has simply unscrewed. It could just be stiff but I'm a big fella and have given it a good old twist (in both directions) but to no avail. Is it definitely a screw-on screw-off? If so I'll give it another go. Thanks for the reply and the warm welcome :16: Glyn.
  11. Hi, Just bought a 2003 1.9 TDI Zetec 115PS (manual 6 speed). Want to replace the worn gear gaiter but can't figure out how the gear knob comes off! Please help. Thanks, Glyn.
