I have just been told that my n/s top mounting needs replacing and has excessive play and shows signs of wear. I do trust mylocal independent garage but can anyone advise if i need to check anything to be sure. I have had problems with excessive wheel wear on the insides of my front tyres and also a slight knocking when going on bmpy road. I ahve also been told both sides need to be replaced - is this true?

Thanks Seatkid, sorry for postin everywhere, this is the first time i have used a forum. I will be taking my gal back to my locla dealer and insist they check again, esp the ARB & trackrod ends, I have already had to thraten them with legal action in the past, esp when they sold me a car with no breaks on as all pads worn to the metal & refused to fix. thanks

Hi I know your posts are old but I have a 2005 galaxy and have had lots of problems with tyre wear. The car has allways drifted slightly to the left but this was blaimed on the road camber in my area (several garages have stated this) however, I have had the car 2-years and am on my 3rd set of tyres (Mitchelin 1st, Dunlop second). The dunlops were put on in january 08 and after 10k both front tyres are so worn on the inside edge, the reinforcing nylon is showing through. I am sure that this is not correct but my local ford garage has carried out a full geom check, tracking & visual check of all components but claim there is nothing wrong - obviously there is I will be insisting they look at it again as the problem has been there since i bought the car. I have also been told this type of wear is common on this car??? can anyone confirm this? I have just had the car checked after putting on some cheeper tyres (why spend a lot when they dont last long) and have been told that the bushes are slightly worn on both sides (too much play) and the n/s trackrod end has slightly more movement than the other side - I am having this checked Howevger, i wanted to know if anyone else has experienced problems like this with tyre wear and was it resolved? I have been told by a sharran owner that some parts around the drive shaft or trackrod end have a habit of going after 60-70k miles as is a non lubricating part and there is a lubricating kit one can buy for
