  1. Morning All, I finally got round to doing this job and it wasn't the springs pinging everywhere experience I was expecting, it was very simple really. Undo the three torx bolts holding the latch mechanism in, carefully slide the latch from the exterior handle, unplug the multiplug at the bottom. Once free I took it to a bench, the next step was to remove the metal cover secured by 2no 3mm allen bolts and then carefully prise the plastic shroud open and remove it. Lift the rod out of its housing and the end is easily removed. Refitting is the reverse. I am unsure as to why one end broke off and frayed but suspect it was weakened by a bodyshop when they repaired the door a couple of years ago and that repeated use finally finished it off. Hope this is of use to someone. Regards Steve
  2. Hi All, I have been registered for a while and have found the topics on the site very informative, I have done a search but have been unable to find anything regarding this and was hoping somebody may be able to help. I need to replace the rod that goes between the handle of the door card and the latch on the the door of a Mk2 Galaxy. It pops off quite easily from the handle but I can only see one lug on the latch end but it doesnt seem to release the rod when depressed, the only other thing I can think of is removing the latch but this would mean disconnecting the exterior handle as well. Am I missing something really obvious? Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help. Regards Steve
