  1. Okay, its honesty time and hopefully a response to help prevent someone else getting into the same scrape......... After a careful read of both the user manual and the Haynes manual, it turns out that in messing with the fuses I inadvertantly put one of them back in the wrong slot. So if you have problems after touching the fuses in any way, take five minutes just to verify all are in the right place......... Another one to put down to experience. Have a good Easter weekend, Keeders
  2. Hello everyone, First post here and joining the Galaxy non-starters club. I have read fairly comprehensively the various posts about keys, programming, relay 30 (or 27) and so on. However still cannot find detail that enables me to be sure exactly what the problem is with my Galaxy. Background: MOT yesterday passed 100% except 2 brake lights not working. I knew the rear harnesses had been chafing and had repaired previously so had a good idea where to go to fix things. Got home, started work and soon had one of the light fixed. Checked the bulb of the no-working light and forgot to turn ingition off so had a couple of sparks. This is where things started going badly wrong. From here I started checking fuses and found one had blown. Replaced it and lights were still not right. Then tried a trial and error approach by removing and reinstalling other fuses. Then, when I tried to restart the car, the dash lights up but the glow-plug light doesn't come on - engine turns over but will not fire......bugger ! My initial thought is that I have removed the immobiliser fuse and somehow the system has been reset and does not recognise my key - can anyone tell me if this is correct and fuse removal would rest the immobiliser ? Using the valuable info here in the forum, I have checked key programming - ok, door led's - come on then go out after 3-4 seconds (seems correct), relay 30 (not installed in my galaxy - not sure if thats correct or not) and various other minor areas - all without success. Generally all seems ok. I plan to check the glow plugs resistance values tonight to eliminate that also but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be very grateful. Thanks very much, Keeders.
