All the bits to converet it are readily available, as the MFD SAT NAV that is fitted as standard to some of the Galaxy's is also 2DIN. If you have any problems have a look at www.vwnavi.com as they have a large forum about the MFD and Sharan (same as a Galaxy). Jim
It looks like it is the 2DIN size, it uses 4 flat keys on the top and bottom rather than the Ford 6000 style that is DIN and a half and used pins on the side for removal. Jim
If you look on eBay you will find quite a few of the factory fitted sat navs for sale. The one that you want is a MFD (not MFD2), they are the same for VW, Skoda and ford. The only difference is the start up screen and the brand printed above the cd slot. You should be able to pick one up for about
Thanks for that, but that post doesn't mention the TMC. The TMC is for dynamic route information, so if you are going from say one city to another and there has been an accident on the motorway the sat nav will automatically recalculate the route avoiding the hold up. Jim
If they are the same physical size you would be able to get a cage and wiring converter. I think that is 2DIN though and your 6000 is DIN and a half. Jim
I am a little unsure which version of the MFD I have got. The part numbers are :- 7 612 001 040 1M21 18K931 AA 7M5 035 191 A It has been supplied with 2006DX discs (from eBay) It reads the disc and displays the map but doesn't display any street names and give the message "you are not currently located on a digital map" Does it meen the disc should be non-DX? Jim
If you press 3 + 6 at the same time when you let go it shows the software screens. Press the right hand knob to see the second screen, press the flag button to access the pulse and tyre size screen. Jim
