  1. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=findpost&pid=148553 Had the same problem a while back, new central locking motor required. Cheers, Paul T.
  2. ASZ engine code is the 130
  3. Update for anyone who comes across this problem, it was the motor that was at fault, new motor fitted and all is well again, also the motors are interchangeable with the other doors if you need to check one. Cheers, Paul T.
  4. Yes, Wiring is good, it was the first thing I checked, no splits in the insulation, no breaks and all the pin in the plug are good. Cheers, Paul T.
  5. Hi, looking for any ideas as to the fault with the central locking on my 03 alhambra. When locking the car with the remote or key, the N/S rear door lock cycles through locked / unlocked three or four times, sometimes finishing locked, sometimes unlocked?. Door wiring is ok , do I replace the lock?. I've done a search but am still none the wiser. Cheers, Paul T.
  6. Strut top mounts / bearings ? Cheers, Paul T.
  7. Just to clear up any confusion, 115BHP AUY engines have garret turbo chargers that bolts to the exhaust manifold with a 4 bolt flange, the 130BHP ASZ engines have a different make ( if I remember correctly, Borg Warner?) which are cast into the exhaust manifold, ie the turbine exhaust housing is part of the exhaust manifold and the turbo has to be built into the manifold. Cheers, Paul T.
  8. Hi mate, The turbos are different, the 130bhp turbo is built into the exhaust manifold, the 115bhp turbo bolts to the manifold. Cheers, Paul T.
  9. Sorry, I don't have a Digi camera. Cheers, Paul T.
  10. Hi, Rear springs are a doddle to fit just unbolt the shock absorber and lower the arm down to release the spring , I find the front are easier to do if you remove the strut with the hub still attached, just disconnect the balljoint, T.R.E., Drop link, caliper, disconnect the plug on the ABS sensor and slide the hub off the Driveshaft, it sounds a lot but it is easier than trying to wrestle the strut in/out of the hub while it is still on the car. The strut tops will be rusty as the water just lies in them, (poor design!), so give them a good soak with release oil (you have to remove the panel under the windscreen to gain access. only three bolts)and make sure the allen key and swan necked spanner are a good fit , also use a good set of spring clamp when you remove the springs from the struts and while you've got them stripped you should replace the strut top bushes and bearings (don't cost much). I lowered the wifes Alhambra 50mm and it looks just right with the 18" wheels and made a big difference to the handling. Cheers, Paul T.
  11. Hi, This is a common fault, I've replaced 3 in as many months (2 Alhambras and 1 Galaxy). I think its down to being assembled dry in the Factory. When you do replace, make sure you replace the intermediate shaft as well as the stubb shaft , if you check the splines in the intermedate shaft you will find that they will be very sharp/worn making a poor fit in the new stubb shaft, and it won't be long before they fail. Also when assembling the new shaft coat the spline in some Hi Temp grease. Cheers, Paul T.
