  1. hi i had similar problems before. you will need a remote to operate the system. first check the screens are connected okay at headrest as this will cause system not to work at all and if okay as in my case it was one of the screens not working which shuts everything else down. i hard wired my system (easy to do) so you are not reliant on stereo (it could be the power out on this is not working). although as i said before you must have the remote to start it up and operate properly. with regard the 12v socket it must be a fuse which as i recall is not clearly shown in the manual which one it is (i tried them all!).
  2. Hi SGB i had exactly the same problem with a kids drink on the module. unfortunately you will have to replace the module but please note get it from VW as it is
  3. it was out of warranty by some 8 months but i argued with ford customer care that a gearbox should last longer than 24k no matter how old. it took 3 months to get and i was hoping for more but with a recon being

  5. hi all i have a 03 v6 auto and have recently had the engine light come on intermittently (Ford found no fault) and just recently it has developed some vibration when accelerating hard, also the mpg not too good at moment. Could this be the coils? BTW the car had a new gearbox partially under warranty (i had to pay 50%

  8. hi all does anyone know how to remove the coils on the v6. i have tried to pull gently but they dont seem to budge thanks nick
  9. hi all i have the visteon dvd system which only comes on with the stereo. last year i changed head unit (knackered as kids thought cd player was moneybox!) for a sony unit which is great. only thing is when using dvd on holiday noticed that it wont come on until i put stereo in radio mode which is okay when kids are using headphones but if you want to connect it to the aux input to play through stereo it turns dvd off. i am assuming it is connected to the electric aerial output for power to turn on therefore would i be right to connect the wire connected to the blue wire i think to constant live (is that red) or would it be preferable to the live linked to the ignition (is this yellow)
  10. I HAVE DONE EXACTLY THIS WITH THE 17" RS6 WHEELS AND THEY LOOK GREAT. THE ONLY THING IS I PAID
  11. seatkid is almost certainly right, the door plunger switches twist out and can be changed easily and are approx a fiver from ford

  14. hi, i have 2003 2.8v6 and on sunday the kids spilt juice under the passenger seat and next thing i know the sensors have stopped working. is the small unit under the seat a control for the sensors and if so is it finished or could i possibly dry it out although to be honest it didn't get that wet. thanks
  15. i had the same problem with that unit and i would be hesitant about buying another as they are generally rubbish head units. i replaced mine with a new sony bluetooth/mp3/cd unit with adaptors all for less than
