  1. Would never put Avons back on my Galaxy - she's done 175k miles now. Only ever had 3 punctures in my whole driving live - all of them on Avons on the Gal. The Avons never had chance to wear out - had to replace them due to punctures. Stick with Dunlop 2020.
  2. There is a square shaped lug on the tensioner, onto which you can put an adjustable spanner. Pull the lug to release the tension on the belt. You will then see that a small hole in the tensioner (near the lug) allows you to put a piece of welding rod through to keep the tension off the belt while you remove it.
  3. My Mk2 TD 115 PS has just gone through 170,000 miles with same list of problems - amazin ! Just trying to sort out the alternator pulley problem at the moment - trying to find the right part number for the 120A alternator pulley is not easy. This site has helped me enormously Mike
