  1. Fitted some to my 04 LX this morning and to say I am well pleased would be an understatement  I was having a similar problem with threading the wires until I found a large grommet/plug under the carpet just to the left of the spare wheel nut. took the wires through here and under the carpet to the right hand compartment. If you take the wires to the o/s compartment you can see a connector which includes the main feed to the reversing lights (thick black/blue wire on mine). Take a look.... I bought some which came in blue and I cannot believe how close a match to my colour - Shadow Blue. I have earned so many brownie points I don't know what to do with them all!!!!! Pal
  2. Doesn't the red strap under the seats only release the rear fixing and tip them forward? The other lever just folds them forward/in half. Can't help you with the spare part I'm afraid but one was missing on the car I bought two weeks ago. I spotted it and the dealer put one on. Sure a dealer will know what you are on about. Pal
  3. I wonder if we went to the same VW dealer? The guy there was reluctant to look up the parts for me in fact I am sure he tutted as he walked away to the computer. Anyway after too long looking up the wrong parts he suggested I went to Ford!!!! That's what I call customer service. Ford were helpful but you had to visit and pay before they would order the goods. However they did fax me over the attached sheet to help identify what was needed. The guy on the Parts desk at SEAT was fantastic. He did it all over the phone and had it ready for collection the next morning. Good luck. Pal
  4. I didn't know that - I just bought a cover from e-bay from a 2006 Alhambra!!!! Thought it would fit...... luckily it does. :D For info my Galaxy does have the rear heater. Pal
  5. My interior if Flannel Grey. SEAT Part Numbers:- S7M0868795F x1 Retainer S7M0868796E x1 Retainer SN0161943 x6 Rivets S7M3868776U71 x1 Mounting S7M3868775U71 x1 Mounting SN0141423 X4 Screw S7M0868778U71 x1 Mounting S7M0868777AU71 x1 Mounting SN0386021 x4 Nut Pal
  6. I got together sufficient info to give me the confidence to give this a go. I was daunted by having to cut large holes in the panel and not knowing what was behind the panels until I had taken them off. Before: Panel off and bracket fixed: Panel back on and plastic bracket fitted: JOB DONE!!!! And the cost........ cover from e-bay
  7. That should bring them up a treat!!!! Am I mad or just stupid? :(
  8. Doesn't work - sorry. You'll find the thread by searching "speaker replacement". Perhaps a moderator can sort the link and tell me what I did wrong. ;) Thanks. Pal
  9. I'm not impressed. Now if they were through two outer holes...... now that would be something!!!! ;) ;) :D :D :D :D :D :D
  10. Sounds like you will have to get to the mechanism behind the quarter panels. I removed one of my panels just yesterday and it exposes both the middle and rear seat belt inertia reels. There is a very detailed description of the removal process on topic 8129 - speaker replacement started by GeeMan on 23/4/06 but the detail and pictures are posted by NikpV. Not sure if this work but this may be a link:- Click here!"]How to remove quarter panel[/topic] I can say the removal description works - lets hope I can put it all back together!!!!! ;) Good luck. Pal
  11. Thanks Wolfie, If you can let me have the VW part numbers that would be great as I hear they are a little cheaper than Ford anyway. :D I presume they are identical parts including colour? Please can you give me all the component parts except the actual load cover. My interior is flannel grey. Thanks. Pal
  12. I am looking to retro fit a load cover and have followed the helpful instructions posted by NikpV in an earlier thread about speaker replacement, to remove the rear quarter-panel. Got it off safely, nothing broken.... yet! Anyway, I can see the markings on the back of the panel where I need to cut out to receive the brackets but I have two questions. Firstly, what it the recommended method of cutting the panel - I have visions of the material on the front snagging and laddering. Secondly, I think I need something to fit between the bracket and the car. The bracket has two screws which are horizontal but the car has two holes, one larger than the other which are vertical (picture hopefully attached). If as I suspect there is a bit between the car and the bracket, how is this fixed in place and will my Ford or VW dealer have this for sale? Thanks very much. Pal

    Hello

Thanks for the welcome, even if I didn't understand all of it!!!! ;) Two days to go...... Ta for parking sensor advice Crispy - you make it sound so easy. Retro fit from dealer (with extra button on the dash to turn them off) is circa
  14. Hi All, We bought a Galaxy today - 2004 LX 1.9TDi (115ps). Our Zafira is getting too small now we have three sproggs. Can't get three car seats across the middle row and sticking one of the saucepan lids in the back takes up too much boot space and isn't realy the safest place to be. We pay the balance and pick it up next Saturday......... yipee!!!! Definately have some mods to make like a luggage cover and are thinking about parking sensors. This looks like a great web-site and look forward to sharing the highs and hopefully not too many lows of owning a Gal. Pal
