  1. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180345943967 Looks like a genuine guy selling a great item!!! :D
  2. I have just bought an 08 Zetec and have the same issue. Let us know how you get on Jules. Thanks.
  3. Cheers guys. :D Pal
  4. Found this on the drive under the car the other day. :D Any ideas??? Cheers.
  5. I did mine with a sharp stanley knife. From the back I followed the template and just pushed the point of the blade carefully through periodically around the template. The tip of the blade was taken up by the foam and the slack in the cloth. Once right round I pushed it out from the front. I then cut an x in the cloth with scissors to fully receive the bracket. This method did not snag the material and if any fibres were cut as the blade came through you certainly cannot see it as they are subsequently covered by the bracket. Good luck. Pal
  6. You done it too Tommie? Give us the details and share in my shame. :o Pal
  7. I had a similar internal water feature on my 54 plate Focus. If you open the boot and just prise down the rubber holding the roof lining up a little left of centre i.e. in line with where the pipe comes through to the boot, you will see where two pipes connect. Mine were disconnected so I just pushed them back together - job done. Water can show in the funniest of places and be nowhere near the origin of the leak! Good luck.
  8. Car is back and is running fine. And the cost?
  9. If you take it off, can you get more throttle and GO FASTER?
  10. Sorry mate, Duke would get my vote but I always appreciate a bit of bribery and corruption in the democratic process  so I'll vote Dino for you. Good luck.
  11. Quote Big_Kev "You do realise that all the Girlie's on this forum have now printed this off and are laughing at you." I know... wot a PLONKER!!!! I am more than happy to be the butt of the joke, I really do deserve it! I will not try to make any excuses for my mistake. Funnily enough I had consecutive diesel Mondeos over a 10 year period whilst my wife always had petrol cars. Now I have a petrol Focus and she has a diesal Gal. All I can say is thank heavens for insurance. I am truly humble. Yours embarrassingly.... Pal
  12. Phoned Shiela's Wheels this morning and whatever the extent of the damage, apparently it is covered. Just a
  13. Thanks for the optimism guys, I so hope you are right about not causing any damage. Anyone know any trustworthy and reasonably priced garages in the South Herts/North London area? Cheers. Pal
  14. Went to Tesco's to fill up my wifes Diesel Galaxy and stuck unleaded in!!! I was at a 'pay at pump' and wanted to go into the shop anyway so having filled it to the brim I drove about 20 metres to a space and backed in. Went to shop, came out and it wouldn't start. Felt sick as I realised immediately what I had done! Imagine how I felt having to call my wife to tell her what I had done, I was, am still am, close to tears. :o Anyway I have been delivered back home being and Sunday and garages are closed. What should I do? Obviously it will need to be drained down but anyone know what are the likely long term consequences? Why would it cut out immediately when I see some people drive for a while before realising? Is there a sensor or something that would cut it out? Do you think I would be insured for any costs/damage? It is accidental damage after all and I can't see a wrong fuel exclusion on the policy. It is a 04 TDi Thanks. Pal
  15. Me, Mrs, 3 sproggs, 2 In-laws, 2 large suitcases, pram, steriliser, small sports bag all in the car, large sports bag, medium sports bag, 10 towels, 7 coats, a basket of food in the roof box and 3 bikes on the back to Centreparcs and back with no probs - drove like a dream. I'm in love with her. B)
  16. Sorry Phillip, cant help as my Gal doesn't have a towbar. The set I bought of eBay recommended 40cm max between sensors. I don't know what angle they detect at. I measured the factory fit on a MkII Ghia and the middle two were 46cm apart. Only suggestion I have would be to wire only one to the unit and lie the boot with the car in reverse (parked - not moving!). Hold the sensor against the bumper and move it inwards until it goes off due to the tow bar. That will give you a rough idea on the angle it works at. Only warning is you would have to move it away further from that point as when you fit it properly it will move closer to the bumper and therefore pick up more of the towbar. Does your unit only work if all four are fitted?
  17. Forgive my first car - we all have to get on the ladder somewhere - an X Plate Austin Metro 1.0 L. Next I owned a C Plate Fiesta 1.4 LX. Then I met Mrs Pal and we shared her D Plate Escort 1.4 Ghia and we next bought a G Plate Sierra 1.8 L. Due to work we needed two cars - I got an L Plate MKI Mondeo 1.8 TD, Mrs Pal got an M Plate Vaux Astra 1.4 L with dodgy electrics! Updated my L plate Mondeo for a Y Plate MKIII Mondeo 2.0 TDi. Two kids later and Mrs Pal got a 52 Plate Vaux Zafira 1.6 Comfort. Last year I downsized the Mondeo to a 54 Plate Focus 1.6 LX. Third spud arrived and last month we changed the Zafira for a 04 Plate MkII Galaxy 1.9Tdi. Anyone have a similar Ford ownership history? Pal
  18. I did a reg search on my gal (04 LX) and it came up with the following:- Make: FORD Model: GALAXY (V191) (MPV) Colour: BLUE We have found 3 different tyre sizes that match your vehicle. The manufacturer's original tyre size is: 215/55R16 H There are also the following alternative tyre sizes that may have been fitted as an upgrade option by the manufacturer or the dealer: 205/50R16 V 225/45R17 H Mine say 195/60R16 C99/97H Should I be worried? Thanks. Pal
  19. I remember seeing a thread/post where a member was offering new handles for
  20. Fitted some on mine a couple of weeks ago. If you are fitting the unit in the o/s rear compartment (the one where the jack is stored) fix the red to the thick black/blue wire in the connector found just in front of the rear light cluster. That is the reversing light live on wire. I just opened the connector, squished (technical term!) the wire in to the receiving side and reconnected. Just fix the black to a screw or nut on the body work. There are plenty in the compartment. Let us know how you get on.
  21. When I asked Ford about one for my Mark II they quoted 3 colour options - Flannel Grey (light/mid grey), Anthracite (dark grey/black) or Beige. I have seen blue ones listed on e-bay so presume they must have made blue interiors for the Mark I. There is a blue one for sale on eBay at the moment - item no: 220104033714 but with them going on average for around
  22. I recall reading somewhere that they won't fit. Is it to do with the stud diameter? 112mm on a MkII - what the sizes on a MkIII? Thanks. Pal
  23. I found them pretty easy to fit - most of the time was taken in making sure I was happy with the positioning as that bottom section of the rear bumper is profiled and I wanted to be happy I had identified the flattest parts before drilling. Bit scary at first but once I had drilled the first hole I was off and running. As with Crispy Crystal, I wasted a lot of time looking for a way to get the wires into the boot space. If you prise off the plastic cover which lays across the boot (that which covers the boot latch) and lift the carpet up slightly to the left of the spare wheel mechanism you will see a grommet through which to bring the wires. Also behind the bumper are some eyelets so I fixed the wires neatly along the back of bumper to one central point before taken them to the grommet - this was there are no wires trailing or that would interfere with the spare wheel. I reckon the whole job can be done in under an hour. I bought mine from ebay for a seller called gps-ppc. They are called Cisbo, come with a three year warranty and come in black, blue, grey, silver and white. I only paid
