  1. as others have said, it works on the pressure in the air con system, if the gas is low, then the unit will flash, once filled it willno longer flash. if the dealer told you it is normal then they are plain and simple lying, was it them that did the work before on it, would you trust them now you know they are lying to you, speak to the manager there and get the job done properly.
  2. the haynes manual number is 3984 it covers everything apart from the v6 engine, so get a vw one for that http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/...1&langId=-1
  3. wow, this is a topic i forgot about, it turned out to be the leads, thanks anyway. the spark plugs are easy enough to change, need to get a ht lead remover first though, dont bother trying without it
  4. perhaps the belt is 1 tooth out now, hence the crap starting. take it back and demand they put it right
  5. im trying to figure out why you took the car away from the garage that broke it for you. you should have got them to fix the problem that, from what it sounds like, they created.
  6. im gonna put my money on it being the little rubber strip that joins the lcd panel to the ciruit board, whn the go brittle or bend or whatever then the joint between them breaks and you get either no display or lines down the screen or something similar. it used to be a problem on nokia phones a few years ago.
  7. ok cheers for that advise mate, will take a look while im there, i've got the leads and plugs coming tommorrow so im goona try that first, i did notice today though that the gal smells VERY rich whilst running, any more ideas??
  8. yeah, cheers mate, i have a lead removal tool, incidently i changed the plugs, leads and coilpack in march 2007, so i was trying to eliminate one before i go spending again.
  9. my 2.8 v6 galaxy is misfiring, this is a lot worse at a cold start and gets better as the car warms up i am thinking spark plugs leads and coilpack, today i have check the coilpack and am getting reading of 4.36kohms, 4.35kohms and 4.20kohms. this doesnt mean a lot to me but as the reading for the last ones were slightly lower i didnt know if this indicated a fauly coilpack. are there any other suggestions on what to look for first. i have put vag-com on it and have no fault codes at all, thanks, john.
  10. the sleeve is normally there to protect the rubber boot in the box, thrown away when taken out
  11. i might be wrong but the fact that it happens at low engine speeds sounds like an air/servo leak or something rather than the physical pads/discs. at low engine speed the assistance from the servo is less than at high speeds, maybe its too low to stop the car, if you had ever driven an old car without a servo then you would probably understand me a bit better, john.
  12. its the transmission control module (gearbox ecu) might be knackered, dunno if you can repair them or just replace it with another!
  13. since when was the galaxy vr6 engine a ford unit?????
  14. how do you adjust the milage with vagcom????
