  1. Start engine Run Vagcom Select 01 engine Select 08 measuring blocks Select 006 Check the box that states
  2. You can view live data of the CC system with vagcom. This will test the brake and clutch switches, and all the controls on the stalk. When I upgraded my Tdi to CC, the first stalk I got was faulty so had to get another.
  3. Check the wiring to the fuel pump. I had the same sorta syptoms happen to my TDi90 a while back. No power, strange engine noise. Turned out to be chaffed wires to the fuel pump (2 engine changes as probable cause for mine :P)
  4. What colour is the smoke? Blue-ish is oil burning Black is over fueling White is water contamination
  5. Vagcom can be a bit of git to load onto a Vista machine. You have to run the program for combatility with XP and run as admin Also check that the vagcom cable is in the correct usb port. iirc, vagcom only has 4 test ports, where as some laptops have more, or list them as different numbers so you have to experiment or assign the cable a usb port between 1 - 4 on the laptop. Loading onto XP should be a doddle bar checking the usb port assignment Dont forget that you could also have a faulty stalk unit. The first one I brought, the cc 'on' & 'ressume' buttons didnt work.
  6. They only way you'll do a straight swop will be a like for like engine. If you swop for sumint else, it'll involve loads of other work. Yours will either be code AHU (90bhp) or AFN (110bhp)
  7. As far as I am aware, Vagcom cannot key match or re code stereos. There are no options in my fully registered vagcom anyhoooo (409.1). It may be something the seller has added?
  8. If the laptop has a usb port ya want one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAG-COM-USB-VW-Audi-...id=p3286.c0.m14 If it aint, ya want one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAG-COM-SERIAL-VW-Au...id=p3286.c0.m14 They both should come with vagcom 409. If not, download it here www.rosstech.com Activation is as per my pm.
  9. Tell them you need to put a login code in the engine ecu. tbh, ya better off going to a vag garage.
  10. Pm now on the way to ya fella.
  11. All you will need is a new stork unit. Doesnt matter if it came from a petrol or diesel (mine came from a petrol). http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...indicator+stalk also do a search for alhambra /sharan stalks. They do come up cheaper, just keep looking (as I said, mine was
  12. Petrol cruise is totally different to tdi cruise. Petrol is vacum, tdi is electrical. You need to check: For a switch (almost the same as the brake light switch) on the clutch pedal. (get a torch and practice ya yoga  ) Take off the top and bottom steering colum surrounds, and if there is a black connector plugged into a blank socket near to the indicator stalk connector, you can add cruise control. Buy a 2nd hand stalk unit with the cc switches & swop it over for yours (Disconnect the battery first, as you'll be pulling about very close to the airbag) Next, get vagcom or pop along to ya local VW/Ford dealer and ask them to put in the 'login in' code to activate it. I know this works, cos I did my TDi yesterday :D
  13. Yup, it will. I fitted a mk2 undertray to my mk1
  14. I put a second-hand under tray from a mk2 TDI on my mk1 TDI, and it fits fine. I got a new full fittings kit from fords for
