  1. Nope, the wireless headphones suit the Mk3 media system only, the Mk2 only has the option of conventional headphones my Mark 2 2001 has a wireless option on the screen, never used it though. you can ushually tell as there are extra IR reciever/transmitters on the screen left and right as it were. also the screen has an input for left and right sound .i.e red and white plus yellow for video. andy m
  2. also could be. does the rattle suside if the window is open slightly. there is a bolt that hold the window mech at the bottom both of mine came loose and rattled. unfortunatly it is a door card off job, but it is easy enough to do andy m
  3. to the OP , I have exactly the same one and it works fine, I only use the free edition of Vag com and although limited in functionallity it does for most people. although it will only show the decriptions of codes for one only(the top one), it still shows the codes, so a quick internet search will get the full discription. 4. yes sorry the temp sensor for the cockpit is in the cc module and can be seen though those little vents..... although if you just set the cc to low it by passes it and puts out full cold.! andy M
  5. if the clutch is engaging then the sensor is working...... if the clutch is working and going around it SHOULD work...but it could have less gas than required to hold the refigeration cycle or the compressor is borked..... I 'd regass it as a start if that doent work new compessor time.... I recone if you gave it a bit of time the low pressure sensor would kick in (and the panel would flash on startup) as you proberbly have a gas leak.
  6. I have recently taken my car to my aircon guy and he has diagnosed my poor and weak system as a leak in the said affore mentioned area. now my question is; if I was to say repair the leaky condensor with as JB weld or areldite would it hold for a couple of years, a bit of back ground. last year it was regassed and worked al the way up to winter. this summer I regassed it hoping for the same but only got a couple of days out of it before it stopped working then failed(ie flashed the climate control panel) (vacuum and pressure test revieled no faults) took it back and they went over it with a sniffer and found it only leaking from the top of the condenser/dryer. my idea is to repair it(cheaply) and regass, if not then replace the part. what would be the best solution to seal the leak...?? andy M
  7. 1.not going in to fourth all the time when it did only at high revs then with a thump.... not going in to first except with 1st selected on the auto selector most changes lumpy and late. 2&3. yes and no. at first it made little differance as you can change only 3 litres at a time, but after the third 3 litre change it is fine and has been for the last 20 Kish miles at the time I also did the filter and a good check of the internal and external wiring( all was okay). get the right oil as well there are several near identical types. I bought mine from Audi, As it's the same stuff (exactly same) and it's cheaper. about
  8. oh oh!! mine does this as well... 2001 MK2 GAL..... exactly the same ,only does it when hot .... any ideas...???and can it be fixed.....easlily or does it have to go in to the job bank of things I can live with.like the climate display missing segments and the air con not working :D ???? bullit
  9. this seem the right thread to ask in.... I have one of these ebay link that I got cheap.... however I have a Ford gal 2.3. auto and this cable works great with Vagcom, bought up and cleared some autobox faults, which is why I bought it. however here is the question I have the MIL light showning and want to know what other software can I use to talk to the engine obd using the same cable. I have tried scantool and diagnose and both dont seem to want to communicate with the car, even when using hyperteminal. andy
  10. hi, as this topic is bought up again, I'll add to it. I've just had a powerflow (cat back) fitted to my mk2 gal , 2.3 auto and it is a nice piece of kit, was quite pricey but I think worth it
  11. am I right in thinking that if one fails the whole system fails? and stops working. I have the no rear wash wipe spray and no parking sensors(front and rear) could this be connected in any way? I will have a look when it stips peeing down(again) bullit
  12. woohoo.. only 5 brill yeah just bought a transponder key of the bay of E......
  13. Well I'd just like to say hello I have recently bought a rather lovely 2001 galaxy 2.3 auto ghia(as in yesterday). And I have to say I have been reading the forums for a couple of days and I'm quite impressed by the quality of information and it has answered many of my question like: when does the cam belt need changing? never (I think)(right?) as I only got one key, can I buy one and program it myself? No spend some money at ford to get it sorted (
