  1. Thanks for this idiots guide. I will be replacing my front pads tomorrow and thius will help tremendously.
  2. I haven't checked the thermostat but there is hot water running through the pipes as far as I can tell. Will double check tomorrow.
  3. The air box has now been removed, checked and all flaps are working fine. This hasn't however solved the problem as there is still no heat. Is there any other possible causes, someone suggested that it might be something electrical. Please help as it's getting bleeding cold and a divorce is on the cards if I don't get this sorted soon.
  4. Sorry for all the questions but how do i run the test function?
  5. Just one other question, is the heater box an easy thing to get out or is it a case of needing to remove half the dashboard ?
  6. I have been suffering heating problems with my Galaxy for some time. It currently now only throws out cold air, not the best thing at this time of year :14: It has been suggested that a flap may be stuck in the heater box so I intend to get the box out and see if that is the case. The heater is controlled by the climate control system. What I want to know is the following:- Is the heater box a sealed unit or is it possible to get to the flaps and free them if stuck? Any help will be appreciated.
  7. I had a problem some months ago with the aircon/climate control only blowing out hot air. I never really got to the bottom of the problem and then all of a sudden the temperature from the aircon/climate control changed from hot to cold all on it's own. The only problem is that now I cannot get any hot air in the front of the car, although it blows hot in the rear. I'm guessing that maybe a flap is stuck somewhere stopping the heat reaching the front of the car. I also get an awful rotten egg smell every so often which is absolutely disgusting. Any suggestions would be very helpful as it will be divorce time if I can't sort this out as the wife is almost refusing to travel in the car till it's fixed.
  8. I had a friendly mechanic have a look at the car today. After checking everything it seems all the Aircon components are workng fine, compressor, pump etc and he is fairly certain the fault lies inside the heater box. The two motors on the side turn but don't seem to be doing anything inside the box. Is this likely to be the cause of the problem and if so is there somewhere I can get a secondhand/recon heater box unit
  9. The Air Con has only just been serviced and re-gassed so I don't think it's a shortage of gas casing the problem. The air con blows hot air almost straight from start up.
  10. The guy who did the re gas said he was certain the compressor was working fine as all the pipes etc get cold like they should do. The control unit doesn't flash on start up and no fault codes were showing on his computer. Could it be anything else that is causing the problem?
  11. Hi I recently bought a 1996 v6 2.8 auto Galaxy. When I bought it the air con/climate control was working ok although not particularly freezing cold. It has now given up the ghost completely and all it does is blow out boiling hot air whatever the setting. I have had the system checked for leaks and re-gassed by a local mobile Air Con guy but still no joy. He suggested it migt be a problem with the in car sensor to the left of the controls so I have replaced the whole control unit with a secondhand one. This has still not cleared the problem. I'm going to change the pollen filter today as it looks dirty but not sure if this will make any difference. Can anyone give me some advice as to what to look for next.
