  3. Hi, I finally done it, this is how: I ordered four items from ebay: Minex Brakes and discs boxset =
  4. this nipple thingy/joke seem to stick out in this forum. I am off to halford to get the copper grease,7mm hex key and checked out their price on the disc and pads, just to make sure I have got everything before I started the job, most likely on Saturday, hope it don't rain. I understand some people are worried about buying items from Ebay, but personally I am OK about it. Had brought a few things before and they are all ok. The point is how many of us checked the parts that a garage had installed, ie brakes,oil,...etc. We trusted them to use proper manufacturer parts, how can we tell?? or know if they don't. They might have used the so called cheap parts, most parts are not marked/branded, ..I know parts like Oil filter, spark plugs, tyres etc, you can tell easily but a lot you can't....but we are happy about it. That's one reason why I started to DIY,...at least I know and it's my choice.

  9. Hi, My passenger side front brake has a ginding noise ,on and off, I would like to have a go at changing the the pads and discs. Found on Ebay for around 45 pounds: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-ALHAMBRA-FRONT-...VQQcmdZViewItem Would you recommended it?? How big is this job for a DIY average guy? I have read JDF guide but not sure about these steps: 9. Clamp flexible brake hose. 10. Attach clear tubing to bleed nipple and slacken off bleed nipple. 11. Slowly push piston back home (used
  10. Just got my MOT , the bill
  11. Hi Littledaz, You are right, the bolt(item11) you mentioned had came off. I removed it, cleaned it.., I was lucky I found a screw(item11) that fitted. It was quite difficult to put it back(item8), as it was under tension, with a lot of force I managed to screwed it back on, and then the rain came... The aux belt is very tight, I have no idea what tension it should be, but it seemed very tight to me. Any idea?? The car started up fine, NO SQUEAKING !!, and idled at just over 800rev. instead of over 1000rev. before. wow..I am so pleased. Many thanks to you all. If I seemed OTT on pix, I sorry. With my limited knowledge I have not posted before. You guys have help me fixed my wipers and link rods problems which I would never attempted otherwise. Garages had always taken me for a ride, this forum has saved me hundreds of pounds. I hope my little contribution will be of help to someone. Best wishes.
  12. Thank you, thank you, Littledaz, I must admit I'm a bit of a mechanical dumb dumb, But I am learning, the diagram was brillant! I shall go and take the engine cover off now(not sure even I can do that), and investigated the other end. Will return with the result. Oh,about the "paint brush"...a few days ago, just about to set off for work, realised the belt had slipped off the wheel, panic, panic! in my attempt to push the belt back on with anything I can I hold off, ie. the brush. and guess what, I dropped it,arggggggg. thanks again m8.
  13. I would be most grateful if you experts out there could tell me what had gone wrong with my aux belt or tensioner pulley or ??. Can anyone tell me how to fix it. My car has a squeaking noise every now and then. I thought pictures are better than words. Many thanks 4 looking.
  14. It would be great if you have a picture to show us.
