  1. Wonder if anyone has any knowledge on this. My Galaxy (2000 on a "Y" plate) clunks a bit when wiggling the steering while the Engine is off - but disappears once the engine is started. Checked my MG ZTT and it does exactly the same. Now, either both have problems - or there is a simple explanation such as this is a normal phenomenon. Some noises may be noticed as there is deliberate in-built play in the steering system somewhere, that is removed once the power steering pump is running. I have read a note in a website (mazda I think) as follows: "A slight noise is normal as the rack is supposed to shift in its bushings when you turn the wheel at idle - the longitudinal load is around 1,500lbs. Of course the wheel should only be turned with the car moving where possible." Anyone know if this is true/possible/complete pants? Thanks in advance
