  1. just an update i replaced the rubber seal between the egr pipe & the inlet manifold part number 1023189 and the engine ran as sweet as a nut. incidentally i found the remnants of the old seal lodged at the back of the engine it was hard and brittle and in several pieces. I hope this helps anyone with similar running problems!!
  2. Help! had massive problem this week, gal just cut out at lights and refused to idle, checked on OBD11 reader and had fault on O2 sensor + fault code P1131 checked sensor and not switching, changed sensor but stll wont idle, re checked on OBD11 still showing fault code P1131 checked EGR valve & appeared to run smoother when vaccuum disconnected. Decided to change EGR Valve when valve removed there seemed to be lots of freeplay on flange behind valve. New valve fitted but no difference Re checked OBD11 and still fault code P1131. Decided to try changing Idle air valve but again still fault present. Although engine will now idle although very roughly, Found rubber elbow below Exhaust manifold connecting to PCV valve had split causing large air leak, changed elbow & still running very rough although loud hissing noise from EGR valve. removed EGR valve & bracket and found sealing washer missing from pipe behind valve where it joins inlet manifold. Ordered new seal from FORD at cost of
  3. Just thought i'd share this. If you have an apparantly faulty MAF Sensor try removing it and spraying the sensor wire with brake cleaner. This will remove carbon from the minute particles of dust and pollen that burn on contact with the hot sensor wire. this will help with running problems and gearchange problems on automatics as well as saving you a fortune. Hope this helps. :o
