  1. Hi I talked to Ford about this, they stated that the car had to be taken to a dealer to get the lever moved. It is to dangerous for "joe public" to do it ... So I would have to drive illegally in this country getting to the Ferry or illegally in France ! Since then I have found that Halfords now do Headlamp beam defelctors for cars with clear plastic lenses and seem to include Xeon lights. I will be using these. Why doesn't the car's manual, Ford and my local Ford dealers know how to do this I don't know ...
  2. Cheers for the reply,. Yes, the car has Xeon lights with clear lenses. So I need to move this hidden lever ... Does anyone know where this lever is and where it should be moved.
  3. Does anyone know how to change the headlight beam direction for driving on the continent ? I have a 2002 new shape 2.3 Galaxy with the clear lens headlights and the manual says take the car to a dealer to get the direction changed ! Cheers Terry
  4. Thanks for the info. Managed to get to the PATS and EECV, thanks for the pointers. I believe EECV is a new name for the engine management unit. The PATS is mounted below the EECV to a bracket has a screw from the EECV's mounting plate. This screw cannot be got at without removing the EECV and the PATS connector is hidden behind. There is a plate over the EECV's connector stopping you removing this connector. This plate and the EECV are screwed to the mounting plate with special (non tamper ?) screws that seem like star screws but with a pillar in the middle ? I stopped at this point, although I could possibly have made up a tool to remove these screws. I have jiggled all of the connectors as best I could and put it all back together. I also tried disconnecting the PATS transducer and got the appropriate error code reported by the flashing immobiliser light. I now wait to see if the fault appears again .... As a matter of interest, I did not remove the steering wheel as I was afraid of messing up the Air bag. Do you know how to remove the steering wheel corectly ? Again thanks for the info. Cheers Terry
  5. One other question, what is the ts cd and where could I get this ?
  6. Thanks for the reply. Can you read the PATS error code separately from the main engine managment system error code ? I had the main engine managment system error codes read but there were no error codes present. I have just found some information on the web http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/pats.htm which suggests that the fault code I see (1 flash space 6 flashes) indicates Faulty link between PATS module and EECV Does anyone know where the PATS module and EECV is on a Ford Galaxy 2.3 Ghia (S reg) ? I would like to look at the connections between these modules or are they combined with the main engine management system box ? Any suggestions on where to look ? Cheers Terry
  7. My ford Galaxy has failed to start on two occassions. On trying to start the engine, the engine would spin but not start and the immobilisor light on the door would flash quickly. Different keys were tried but to no avail. Eventually, leaving the ignition on, the fault seemed to clear itself. On the second occasion I noticed that after the quick flashing, the immobilisor light would flash once, delay a bit then flash 6 times. It would do this repeatidly. Is this a fault code and does anyone know what it means ? Cheers Terry
