They could be ambient lights like the BMW's have. You don't notice them ordinarily but they give a little light to be able to see around the cabin area

If you pick up a 4 door these are still reasonable in price...the 2 doors though...forget it...mega bucks for a shed! :)

So when my pad light came on in September I should have changed them then?.....oops, more expense! :lol: Is there a thread on here showing how to do them on a Mk2 Galaxy? I cant find it but I may be doing it wrong.....

Well on the inside, the original interior was brown which I wasnt too keen on! I am going to change the whole interior to grey and for the time being have a grey set of recaros from a GLS in it. All the door cards and inner rear 1/4 cards are brown and the grey stuff is VERY hard to get hold of! I will have to resort to getting them covered to match. It was a 1.6 auto when I got it last year with 64000 miles on it, rust proofed from new and to go to a few shows I put a 5 speed box in on the back of the pinto. As I write, the 2.9 is being rebuilt, I have a few nice bits to put on it, alloy rocker covers from the 2.8 EFi (Scorpio), alloy sump from the V6 Cossie, alloy bellhousing from the XR4x4 and have the running gear from a 2.3 GLS with the bigger ARB's, power steering and will probably finish off with with a set of 15" minilites...not too sure yet! I will also be uprating the brakes by putting Mk2 Granada calipers on with Capri 2.8 vented discs, I have the bigger drums on the back from the 2.3 axle. I will be using the type 9 box on this one. I also have another 2 door the same in blue, this one will probably be converted to run on Sierra IRS, I have a mate who specialises in this conversion on the Mk3,Mk4 and Mk5..(usually with a 24v Cossie lump pushing it!) Maybe a V8, although I would like to keep it Ford..so a 351 sounds nice!! :ph34r:

I think it's the 7th or 8th Cortina I have owned.. :lol:

I think you are right but I seem to recall they later found out all the affected cars had had some work done on them involving the subframe being removed/replaced....like clutch replacement.... Doesnt sound like this though?..I had this once on a car and the tyre had a slight bulge in it and this was enough to pull the car across the road!! :(

Having owned some fast cars, I was really surprised at the performance of the V6....It is awesome...how come someone said its not that powerful?...I love surprising people when I plant it...it flies...if you can keep the wheels straight that is...(where suitable of course!) :D I went for the V6 cos I had an early midlife crisis...didnt want a diesel..but then I bought a caravan and now wish I had the 150ps version.... :( :lol:

This is a great forum, but I have read through most threads over the past few months, and now expect my Galaxy to fail or breakdown and cost a fortune to fix!!! I posted the other day that other than servicing and tyres, I hadnt spent anything on it in 2 1/2 years... The following morning, it is telling me to check the brake pads!.....I have read so many horror stories, I am not enjoying the car! A couple of days ago, I took a company car to our garage and needed to leave it there. I got a lift back in a 2003, V6 109,000 mile Galaxy (it has had a hard life as a Police ARV) and it felt nothing like mine! I asked one of the mechanics what he thought of it and he said they spend more time in the workshop than on the street..he also made reference to the climate control and the gearbox....... I may just stick to reading the posts about ICE installs and modifications!!!! :) :)

:) I think you would be safe in most counties handing out leaflets for this site!...It may only be a problem if you put one on an Espace! :)
