Steviedee Did you ever solve this? I've just fitted a new linkage to a 2001 Galaxy & my wipers are either clashing or hitting the screen edges. I'm coming to the conclusion that I might have to do the opposite to you you & have some wiper arms that sit the passenger side above the divers side. Cheers jccd

I think the other switch may be to deactivate the criuse control when the brake pedal is depressed, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Can a more experienced member please confirm? Cheers JCCD

Just had the middle & rear sections of my 2001 2.3 petrol Galaxy renewed at Bridgwater Tyres & Exhausts in Bridgwater for

dipsomaniac I couldn't squeeze any pair of clips. There appeared a very slim catch on the top, just one piece of plastic going over another about 1mm thick & a more substansial catch on one side which I tried sliding a flatblade screwdriver into to release any kind of catch but could not get it to part at all? I should of taken a photo but it's all boxed up now. But I will try & post one. Cheers Madcow

Thanks all. I think I caught mine just in time. None of the pins/bushes were actually seized when looked at but the wipers had slowed right down & stopped altogether on occaisions. Anway all lubed up & back in action. Thanks for your help. As mentioned by someone earlier the top of the front suspension struts were rusty & both sitting in a pool of water so I dried these out, wired bushed the rust off, filled them with grease & also put some simple covers over the top & folded round the top edge made out of a couple of 4" squares of aluminium baking foil to stop any rain getting in. Just like to say thaks for giving me the info to tackle my cruise control that has not worked for a year of so. I was under the bonnet investigating the infamous windscreen wiper linkage siezure & thought I would have a go at the cruise control vacuum pump hose. Anyway the hose on the pump was cracked & an hour later & 50p for a new length of hose all sorted. A couple of issues I came across were; 1. I could not figure out how to disconnect the headlamp electrics plug (Mk II 2.3 petrol), so had to tackle the hose replacement with the lamp dangling/propped up. Does anyone know how to seperate these plugs? 2. When pushing the hose onto the top fitting of the vacuum pump I inadvertantly unclipped the pump from one of it's rubber mountings. This was a pain in the *** to get back on again. But I managed to do it by holding the end of the rubber mounting with a pair of long nosed pliers & stretching the mounting whilst pushing the pump backplate over the stretched mounting. It took a few attempts but got there in the end. I think it would have been a bit easier if I could remove the whole headlamp. Cheers JCCD

In the Ford TIS CD there is a section with the templates that you print out & photocopy to the correct scale for the headlights. All the instructions are on the cd. I've just used them with black masking tape - it did the biz!
