  1. Has any one noticed if the price of a pre March 2001 car is worth more than post March 2001 car, because taking a 2.8 Galaxy for example, in 18 months time, the post March one will be paying
  2. After 7 years of ownership & 150000 miles i've traded her in, 3 of the kids now have their own cars, she wasnt needed anymore, my new car is a 2.0 Ghia Focus, it's a year 2000, X reg, 36000 miles, FSH & 1 owner from new, she drives like a dream, also being registered before April 2001 I won't be hit by the increases in road tax. Although i didn't contribute much, I will still be paying my daily visit to the forum and no doubt asking questions in the Focus section.
  3. Just seen this one.
  4. I managed to get a second hand one of ebay for
  5. If a cable has broken you will have to replace it, you would be unable to repair it.
  6. The pipe to the rear washer has almost certainly become detached, this is an easy job to do, all you have to do is remove the plastic panel on the left hand side of the footwell.
  7. I'm finding that my fuel consumption has increased, before the limiter was fitted I tried to keep as close to 70mph as possible, excelerating slightly when overtaking then returning to 70mph, with a limiter fitted you are constantly having to slow down, due to the fact that the vehicles in the middle lane are driving about 80mph without leaving a big enough gap to safely pull into. In light motorway traffic I must admit it is a bonus not to keep checking your speed, but light motorway traffic nowadays is getting very rare.
  8. About a month ago my company fitted a speed limiter onto my works van, set at 70mph, in an attempt to save costs (as I do a high mileage last month 6000 miles), I have found it to be dangerous and stressful. Before the limiter was fitted I averaged about 600 miles per tank, since the limiter has been fitted i'm averaging about 550 miles per tank, I put this increase in consumpsion down to the fact that I can no longer keep to a steady speed, as I keep on getting stuck behind lorries. I fought long and hard to try to stop this limiter being fitted, but to no avail. Speed limiters should be a concern to all drivers because it is expected that all vehicles will be fitted with them within ten years, apparently the technology alredy exists through the GPS system to limit your speed to the speed limit of the road that you are driving on.
  9. I think this is the intake temperature sensor
  10. In my opinion VED is an unfair tax and should be scrapped completely, I drive a company vehicle and average approx 40000 miles a year, my wife drives the Galaxy about 5000 miles a year, but the VED on both vehicles is about the same how can this be fair.
  11. Try Tesco, I renewed last month
  12. Hi all, I have managed to cure my limp mode problems by changing the hoses from the n75 valve to the turbo, but I am still getting a 65535 fault code and think the hose from the intake pipe to the ECU needs changing, the ECU is located behind the instrument cluster and needs removing to be able to change the hose, does anyone know how to remove it.
  13. I've just looked at an American website that compares fuel prices, they can get diesel for about $1.13 per litre, and to think they are up in arms about the price, just hope that the US government will do something to bring down the price of a barrel. i've just filled up my Vauxhall Vivaro
  14. How do you know if its working, if you cant notice any difference.
  15. Hi Swifty, Thanks for the tip, I have now registered, seems to be quite a good site. Faz.
  16. I agree with Seatkid on this, I changed my rear pads about a month ago and think it would have been near on impossible without the rewind tool.
  17. Surely you dont have to worry about the pipe collapsing as the 90BHP does not work on vacuum but pressure as it has a wastegate.
  18. I have had this problem for 2 years, cured it at the weekend by changing both pipes from the turbo to the N75 valve, I got some 3mm ID silicon hose from an ebay seller, cant believe the difference, no more limp mode and engine seems to run a lot smoother.
  19. Sounds like a slack belt, mine had the same symptoms a couple of years ago while i was on holiday, the local garage tightened it for me and its been fine since.
  20. In the instructions it states, for fuel injected diesel engines to spray it down air intake after mass air flow unit(maf), for turbo charged diesel engines spray it down turbo intake.
  21. Hi all, I have bought a tin of Diesel engine restorer to hopefully cure my turbo limp mode problem. In the instructions it states "spray into turbo charger inlet", can someone please tell me which pipe this is. I know its not the top pipe next to the battery because I removed the sensor and air blows out. There is a pipe underneath the top pipe. Could this be it?
  22. Hi Paul Glad you were happy with the Mintex ones, I ordered them a couple of days ago. Like you I wasn't sure of the cheaper ones.
  23. I was wondering how far insurance companies would go to avoid paying a claim, a lot of people have non standard wheel trims, would an insurance company be petty enough to refuse a claim over this.
