  1. Hi all, i also have the same problem on my 130ps 2004; this grey smoke smells like unburnt fuel I've checked the timing, and it's ok But i had a question about the glowplugs: is this normal that there is no power supply, unless it's freezing outside (that's what a mechanic told me when i was suggesting that there is no power to the glowplugs) That guy was saying (after checking the faultcodes) that probably the variable vanes of the turbo stucked; i checked it, but the lever is moving nice en smoothly So i'm still searching on this problem, if you find something please let us now!!
  2. Thanks for the reply, and yes all filters are replaced, even with an injector cleaner According to the bill of the dealer anyway I've talked to them yesterday and next week we will check out if there are any fault codes in the car i'm thinking now that the timing is out, due to last cambelt replacement I'm not a complete newbie in the mechanical area.... (On my last car, the mk1 gal 90ps tdi, i've replaced the evaporator in the IP in about 7 hours; not bad i assume...) But in this case, yes the big cloud of smoke is UNACCEPTABLE
  3. First of all; i wish to thank all the members of this wonderfull forum for the info i've already found in here. I was driving an 90 ps gal 1996 for more then 5 years and now bought a mkII 2004 130ps 6 speed, what a difference... What i notice now on this car is; that when the engine is cold and i fire it up there's a big cloud of light grey smoke comming out of the exhaust (not aux heater) which smells like unburnt fuel. The glowplugs are working fine, checked that already. Cambelt is changed at the local Ford workshop about 9000km ago i can find some topics on the same matter, but no answers...
