1998 Galaxy 2.8 V6 air con bust needs a new compressor non Ford part

I have a 1998 Galaxy 2.8 v6 auto Ghia x The following problems have come to light recently 1.The air com doesnt work(will sort later) 2.The climate control digital panel flashes for 15 seconds showing error when first started 3.A couple of days ago the battery went flat as somethng is draining it however when I jump started it and took it for a run red hot air was coming out of the vents even when the control panel was switched off Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted JW
