The emissions pass is genuine though the garage advised me that i'd need to change my Airflow Mass Meter sometime soon, but this shouldn't make that much difference should it?

Thanks for your replies guys, the car recently had new cat, lambda sensor and passed it's MOT Since then the fuel economy slumped. I wonder if they done something at the garage.

Hello again while i'm here i've got another question. Does anyone know if this is a central locking module fault or a door handle fault. On my 1996 Galaxy 2.0 GLX Auto Mark 1 when i closed the doors and the central locking kicks in a curious thing happens. The rear passenger door closes then unlocks, closes then unlocks again leaving me to lock it manually.All the other doors lock fine.This happens everytime. Do these doors have individual senors? Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone know any good sites for cheap spare parts for Galaxies? I'm acually after horn buttons on the stering wheel. One of mine popped off and the cup the button clips into is broken so i need a new one.

Wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I have a 1996 2.0 Galaxy GLX Auto. When the engine is idle or running a noise is coming from the engine like noisy tappets. I've put in the usual engine cleaner to unstick hydraulic tappets but this makes no difference. Could someone tell me where and what i should be looking for? also not sure if this is related but the car just failed it's MOT because of the emissions, something like low on emissions and high on the lambda (Whatever that means). I've asked a mechanic friend of mine who in turn asked another mechanic and was told to try and get rid of the car as he recconds it could be something worse. But these guys haven't actually physically checked the car themselves. I'd like to know as the car is running fine regardless of these issues. So can anyone shed some kind of light?

Great thanx for the info. I've dried the unit out but as yet have not tried it so maybe it might work, who knows. The flooding was cause by the scuttle drains being blocked which i have since cleared. I was away on holiday when it happened so i don't know how long the thing was submerged in water. I have a 1996 N reg Galaxy and i've suffered the dreaded water logged passenger footwell. It was absolutely flooded. My problem is i need another ECU as it was totally submerged in water. Anyone know any sites that do good deals as i can't seem to find them? :huh:
