  1. Thanks Sadly it is just over 12 months old. Any how the story continues. Its been in to the dealers 3 times so far and each time they either cannot fault it or the fault has dissapeared when they connect it to the diagnostic computer. They say they have to put it on the computer and cannot use good old fashioned fault finding. An intersting thing happened the other day when the doors were locked and the lights off you could see the centre console backlights lit this excludes the radio LCD display and the Climate control LCD backlight. Also the "i" information was flashing. The dealers have also said that another Ford dealership has another Galaxy with the same problem. markus
  2. Thanks All. This site is excellent.Due to the lack of time and skills I chose to take the galaxy to the Steelers who diagnosed just as you all kept saying:- Faulty Brake switch Faulty Drivers door wiring loom. I asked the steelers to repair the wiring but they said that most of the wires would perish at some time in the near future and that to do the repair right it would require a new wiring loom. Who was I to argue.
  3. Just as suspected with all your advice. The dealers say the lock did not work, but now they have stripped it down they say it needs a new wiring loom. Waiting again for confirmation. They did say however that the wiring loom would cost the same as the lock, surprise, surpise. Me
  4. Just had the Galaxy at the dealers. Excellent advice... the Brake light switch was replaced for
  5. No water or dampness under either seat. Cant get the wiring boot off drivers door, so cannot check wiring yet. Can anyone help with a Photo of what to do? Regards Me myself and a multi faulty Galaxy.
  6. OK Another fault to report. Neither brake lights work!!! Does this narrow it down futher? Any more specific tests can I do? Regards ME
  7. Checked the fuse box. No visual melting or problems in there. I will check the Central locking relay. Does anyone know how to find it? Regards Me
  8. Thanks everyone, I will check the fuse box as i forgot to add that we have also had a brake warning light on intermittently also. Also I may have the output wrong , I think it is a 115ps model, Does that add up? Thanks I will get back for the cure. Regards Memyselfandi
  9. Hi All Our Ford galaxy has given us years of good service. We were just commenting how reliable it has been. Wish we had not spoke as within 1 month the following faults have appeared. I can't help thinking that there is ONE comon cause for all these faults. Model: - Zetec 1.9 TDI (110ps) April 2002. Faults:- Drivers door wont lock with central locking on first attempt Fuel door lock will not release every time. Passenger side front door has started not to open on solenoid.(within last two days) Heater plug indicator flashing on dashboard. To overcome the cental locking problem we have to recycle the unlock/lock on the key fob a number of times to ensure locked or unlocked. The heater plug indicator could be faulty heater plugs as they have not been replaced since new ( I think) Any help would be very helpfull Regards Memyselfandi
  10. HI I had a n argument with a transit van wing mirror, I have removed the mirror from the door but I acnt find where to unplug the mirror electrics from. I assume you have to take the door fabric panel off to progress. Can anyone help with removal of door panel / electric cable removal. Thanks Memyselfandi
  11. Hi I have recieved the D?s Mirror assembly complete. Only problem is I need to disconnect the Control cables to replace it. The mirror was held on with 2 x star bolts hidden behind two plastic screw hole covers. I need help removing the door panel also. TA
