  1. Me too. Dealer service - they removed all four centre caps with a screw driver and damaged the wheels and caps. After much arguing I managed to get a new set of wheels and caps out of them.
  2. I found the same. I actually bought my new galaxy from them. I fitted a Ford towbar myself but needed them to set the dash module so that the indicator warning light worked. They managaed program it incorrectly twice enabling and disabling non existant sensors. They also overfilled my oil. The final straw was the when I was told that when I received my Ford customer satisfaction survey at the end of year one that I should take it to them and they would help me fill it in and give me
  3. How much did the new badge cost??
  4. I tow a Bailey Ranger 470/4 with Galaxy 110. Also quite often have 5 bikes or canoes plus the family. Apart from the slower accleration you hardly notice it being there.
  5. The repeater light on the dash requires no extra wiring at all. However it does need enabling by the Ford diagnostic equipment (ie the dash module needs reprogramming). I had this done on my 52 TDI Ghia. The dealer wanted
  6. I seem to have a rattle on the tailgate. Does anyone know how the tailgate can be adjusted?
  7. Just recently seem to have develop a change in vehicle noise whilst acclerating between about 1500 and 2500 rpm. It seems to happen in any gear. The sound itself does not appear to be coming from the engine but definitely from the engine compartment and on the drivers side. The noise itself is very hard to describe as its not really a whine or grinding noise more of whoosh. I got the dealer to have a look and they said it was an EGR valve that vents to air and that it was OK. Does anybody else have any similar sounds / solutions / diagnosis. Its a 2002 1.9TDI 115.
  8. I have an actual Ford tow bracket (actaully made by Westaflia) that I fitted. This also removes the bumper crash bar. But replaces it with a different crash bar that has cutouts in the mounting plates to allow the tow bracket into the chassis box section. Also the profile of the crash bar has been changed slightly to stop it fouling the tow bracket. The list price of the Ford replacement crash bar is approx
  9. The Cockpit light on the 2002 Galaxy I have had to be enabled by the dealer.
  10. Jim you mention that you wish to carry Bikes whilst towing. Just remember that the maximum loading (down force ) on the tow bar is approx 80KG (from memory). Therefore this is the limit of the weight of the noseweight of the trailer/caravan + Bike carrier + bikes.
  11. The CC panel on my Nov 2002 (14500mile) TDI has just started flashing when I start up. Definitely no cold air coming from the vents. I am going to book it into the dealers this week. I will keep you posted.
  12. On the TIS CD there are details of the independant rear heating on the TDI models (presumably on scandinavian versions) where the heater can be programmed to come on for a max of 30 minutes using a time clock on the central roof console. This allows the car to be warmed before you get in on cold mornings. Has anybody ever come across this actually fitted, if so how well does it work? Also has anybody retro fitted it to a UK spec galaxy?
  13. ianock: The power output in the rear nearside panel is a continuous feed and used in the Ford wiring kit as the feed to the 12S for caravan internal lighting. There is no connection for ignition switched feed for fridge. This has to be done using third party parts. The dash trailer indicator light does work when enabled and flashs in time with the trailer light and doesn't light if a failure. Jim: the little speaker behibd the rear nearside light cluster is for the rear parking sensors. As far as I can see the CAN network is only used between the various control module which you should never really need to be near when fitting a tow bar. Not quite sure why you would prefer connecting to the high level brake light feed instead of the low level brake light feeds as when a trailer or caravan is connected it doesn't really matter if the car brake lights are working or not. As soon as the tariler is disconnected you would then get the bulb failure notification.
  14. Hi I have an actual Ford towbar and fitted it myself to a 02 model. In order to fit the towbar you need to remove the small plastic panels below the rear lights. This reveals two bolts that need removing along with two in the wheel arch. This allows the rear bumper to be removed. This is necessary to allow access to the open end box section of the chassis. The tow bracket then fits inside the box section of the chassis and bolts fit through predrilled holes and into captive nuts in the tow bracket. The one BIG problem here is that reinforcing metal U section of the bumper fouls on the tow bar and more importantly the holes in the end of the chassis where the towbar fits are completely covered by the bumper supports. It is actually necessary to either get out the cutting and welding gear or buy a new part from Ford which costs
  15. I have a 2002 TDI. If the trailer wiring is not factory fitted, the only way of enabling the trailer indicator light is to have the dash module reprogrammed. This can only be done by a dealer with their diagnosis computer. Also when I had it done it took them three attempts to get it right. The first time they programmed it to use sensors that didn't exist and the second time didn't program it for some sensors. They tried to charge
