  1. My bulb failure dashboard indicator has recently lit up on my dash. Trouble is I can't find a blown bulb anywhere on the car.

Front Indicators, both sides - Check

Front side lights, both sides - Check

Front dipped headlights, both sides - Check

Front main beam, both sides - Check

Front foglights, both sides - Check

Midline indicator repeaters, both sides - Check.

Rear driving lights, both sides - Check

Rear brake lights, both sides - Check

Reversing lights, both sides - Check

Rear indicators, both sides - Check

Rear Fog lights, both sides - Check.

So what bulb has failed? I'm damned if I can find it. Is a false warning light a common fault? Is there a bulb not inluded above that I should check?

Might seem a daft queston at this stage - I also had this problem and couldn't figure out which bulb had gone - then I realised that there are two rear driving lights on each side, one of these had gone - not apparent at first glance that the bulb had failed, but on close inspection the driving light on one side was slightly wider than the other!!!!!

  2. 'Cathy' post='73990' date='Aug 15 2006, 16:23:43' either she's died or sold the car by now! either way the new batteries in the remote are most likely flat by now

Still here - alive and kicking :P - remote still doesn't work though :D

I haven't been able to find a friend..... sorry a friend with a galaxy of a similar age so I can check their remote on my car. :D

I think I am destined to open the dors with the key - great in all this rain :D

  6. Hi,

Does anyone else have this problem? On my Galaxy (03 plate)

the rear windows open themselves as the winder handles, when

the window is fully closed sit in an upright position. SO when driving

the winder handles do that gravity thing and move down and voila

slightly open window with annoying wind noise.

    Matt

Nope - mine are electric - tee hee

  7. Ok..ill reset my intermittant as the pause is just too long.....

Sorry MO4 it resets to default values when ignition is switched off.

The intermittant wipe on the Gal is the best idea ive seen, same as my deceased Fiesta, when screen needs wiping switch it back on and you have perfect setting. Clever these Ford fellas

I quite like the way the intermittant wipers work too B)

  8. B ) Vehicles from 05 96 onwards

    1. Close all the vehicle doors.

    2. Note:

Make sure the door lock cylinder is held in the unlock position for more than 0.5 seconds.

Insert the key into the driver door lock cylinder and turn the key from the rest position to the unlock position three times within five seconds.

    3. The door lock light emitting diodes (LED)s will illuminate for 15 seconds during the remote transmitter programming mode, allowing the remote transmitter to be programmed.

    4. Remove the key from the driver door lock cylinder and aim the remote transmitter at the interior rear view mirror.

    5. Press and hold the LOCK button on the remote transmitter.

    6. While holding the LOCK button down, press the UNLOCK button three times on the remote transmitter.

    7. Release both buttons simultaneously.

    8. Make sure the door lock LEDs flash five times, confirming that the remote transmitter has been programmed.

I have tried all the above on mine, and althuogh all seems ok down to point 8 - my LED on the car doesn't flash, but the LED on the remote does. I still can't open door remotely - any ideas what I am doing wrong?

  9. I currently own two Galaxy's - a 1998 2.0l Aspen and a 1998 TDi Ghia X. ;)

If you can find one - go for the diesel.

The ecomony is far greater, at least on mine. The petrol returns around 25 MPG, whereas the diesel averages 40MPG  - even better on a run up the motorway, on a recent business trip, I ran for 650 miles without fillig up, at an average MPG of 46 MPG - for a big car that's fantastic.

Hope you enjoy the galaxy as much as my kids and I enjoy ours!
