  1. Thanks for the great photo. Looks like a match. Air co pump is definitely hard to turn by hand so looks like that. Was replaced just over a year ago so probably just out of warranty. Will get it booked in and drive it over carefully.
  2. Hummm.. The alternator turns freely. What I think is the air co pump (but could be power steering?) can just about be turned by hand/stiff. The tensioner pulley rotates freely but appears to have prickly bit of rubber stuck to it? Can't reach further down from the top and the hail is going past horizontally so getting under the car will have to wait.
  3. The belt that drives the alternator on my 1.9TDi came off late last night just as I arrived home. Can someone tell me what else is on this belt? I know the power steering pump is on there as I lost that. Is the water pump also on that belt? I'm about 3 miles from my local garage. If I set off with the engine cold do you think I'll make it or is it going to overheat on me in first 100 yards? I suspect something seized like the air co pump as the belt was burnt.
