Hi there I had a fault on my ford mfd sat nav and these guys were able to help. They're Blaupunkt's approved repairers and therefore know what they are doing. O. E. You need 4 pins in total. Here's a link for a pair on ebay  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REMOVAL-TOOLS-KEYS-V...1QQcmdZViewItem

I would second that. The wiring between the door and the body is the first place to look. Our car used the wind the window down but not up. Real pain in the arse,

I'm near Bath but there may be a member nearer to you. If not then maybe we could meet somewhere and I'll run Vag com on it and see what it shows. Just a thought ..... why not take it to another ford dealer and get them to run their fault reader on it. With a copy of that info someone here will be able to help. OR the engine is VW so a VW dealer would be able to do the same.
-
Hi You need to get the fault code read by someone with VAG COM. Where in the country are you. I am sure that someone here will be close with the kit. That way you will know why the car keeps going to 'limp mode' eg the loss of all power. This is being reset when you restart the car. The fault is when a parameter of the ECU is outside the programmed values. Having the fault code read will point to the problem. Good luck Dulux

Hi there I have installed the MFD and the purple wire from the back of the radio is fine for the pulse. You have to set the pulses to 8 but other than that it works fine. Good Luck

To retro fit the Ford Sat Nav in mk2 you have to do the following; Replace the complete centre fascia and all blanking plates and switches. YES the fascia needs replacing as the SATNAV is about 20mm bigger than the 6000 RDS Install a new wiring loom adaptor and GPS ariel (From Ebay) And connect the speed sensor wire / gala (Purple Wire) The MK2 DOESN'T have the VW/Audi Radio loom its the crap FORD one. So you need an adaptor to convert that too. -

Question For Factory Fitted Sat Nav Owners
dulux72 replied to dulux72's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
OK here's a further update The position IE: LONG & LAT is correct I have checked this with another device. BUT its wrong on the map. As I have said its about 300 metres out. I have taken Johnb80 advice and driven for about 40 mins and the screen updates etc but the position shown on the screen is wrong. Could the CD containing the maps be wrong ??? :( Has no one got a factory fitted system ???? ;) -
Question For Factory Fitted Sat Nav Owners
dulux72 replied to dulux72's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Well let me explain I had the single disc 6000 RDS Ford Radio To retro fit the Ford Sat Nav you have to do the following; Replace the complete centre fascia and all blanking plates and switches. YES the fascia needs replacing as the SATNAV is about 20mm bigger than the 6000 RDS Install a new wiring loom adaptor and GPS ariel (From Ebay) And connect the speed sensor wire / gala (Purple Wire) Oh and get an up to date copy of the navigation disc I have done all this and it looks great and works BUT because I need to set the pulses per rotation and wheel circumference the maps are currently about 300 metres behind my actual position. Hence the request for the info from someone with a factory fit system. -
Hi there Could someone help me get the correct figures for the factory fitted sat nav. I need to tell the system the number of pulses per revolution and the circumference of the wheel. This info is stored within your installed system and would really help me out. Don't worry about accessing it as I can talk you to the correct screen to get the info. If you have sat nav as a factory fit please can someone help me with this.
