Hi all Over the past 5 months I've had a problem with my car siren going off. Sometimes it's when the car has been locked up for some time ( i.e the middle of the night ) other times it happens when I lock or unlock the car. The siren sounds for about 10 minutes then stops. It's very erratic going off several times in a day then been fine for a week then going off every couple of days then fine for several weeks etc. I took it to the local main dealer & they said it's an electrical fault & the 'body control unit' needs replacing at a cost of £800. Obviously I want to pay less than that, can anyone tell me if I could source this part myself from somewhere other that the main dealer & approach a local garage to fit it or should I stay with the main dealer & get them to do the job? I have a 2011 Galaxy Titanium TDCI. Thank you
