update time took it to fraud main stealers yesterday. had to have it gassed (yeah riight). stll didnt work and put power to compressor all works fine, so it was electrics like i told them. they chased the wiring and found an earth on the pcm? ended up putting a switch in that earths but has aircon running all the time, but i thought climate control did that anyway unless you hit the economy button. i was there 7 hours and it cost

Hi all Having a bit of fun with my aircon, its a 2.3 ford galaxy ghia dual aircon year 2000 mk1. Had my local aircon peeps round and they checked it out for me, its got gas and it does work... intermittantly. And when it does its very cold. So its not gas or compressor or pressure switch(replaced it). had the condensor and some pipework replaced last year as well. heres the kicker i have noticed it cuts in when going up and down hills. now im suspecting a dodgy earth or wiring somewhere. but where.... location of wiring and connectors for the aircon would be greatly appricated or any other hints as to whats causing it. rojtatton

hi ive been informed by my garage owning mechanic freind that the airbag system is not part of any MOT test so does not need to be working to pass, unlike ABS which is. So you dont need to rush but i would get it looked at.

was the max tank size for mine. was fitted by envirogas at tamworth. yes i would recommed them this is the 2nd car ive had done by them, had a 4 litre v8 range rover with 2 underslung and 1 boot tank prevoiusly.that was the older system and when gas pressure was low performance was low. new system i sequential gas injection and i cannot tell the difference from petrol performance wise. rojtatton

hi i have a w reg 2000 2.3 ghia with gas conversion. sequential gas injection 66 litre tank replacing the spare wheel. when empty fills with around 47-50 litres. (you can only fill a gas tank 80% full to allow for expansion) at 46.7p a litre this costs around

its a 6 disc cd/mp3/wma player as well as a radio :16: also its clarion ce-net so when i need anything else i can plug it in. i.e dvd multi,cd multi ,mini disc ,sat nav, dab tuner etc i didnt know you could bypass the amp, may still do this. is it a standard iso lead plugge into the amp? makes my ears bleed at low volume now anyway :) rojtatton

hi this is my little project with pics. replacing 2007 rds, wiring may be different on other models you have been warned! mk1 galaxy only. mine is an early 2000 pre facelift. stuff required your head unit :unsure: iso adaptor, be carefull with this. double din cage stalk adaptor, you will need to order this from an auto electrical clarion dealer (dents in burton on trent, dale street) this is what it should look like when finished :) ok to start. remove the little tray under radio. disconnect battery negative wire. (black one) remove the radio using the remover tools or as i did specially bent wire. remove climate control unit, this does take some getting out, look underneath theres a clip as well. remove plugs from climate control and put the climate control in a safe place. undo screws and remove wood effect bezel. undo screws for black plastic frame and tilt towards you, disconnect plugs. you should now have the plastic frame out. carefully cut middle plastic tray out. inside car, there is a metal U shaped bracket. this has 2 plastic clips holding wires onto the back. carefully push clips through so they are no longer connected to bracket. get a hammer and chisel arrows show where bracket used to be and wire with plastic clips. attack the bracket at 1 end where the welds are, when cut it loose bend back and forth to break other end. throw bracket away :) ok now put plastic frame back in and reconnect the switches. insert double din frame(see above photo mines already in). these can be specific to radio so beware (mine was a clarion item so matched radio). do the usual and bend the metal tangs down where ever possible to secure it. replace wood effect bezel. replace climate control. bit of a side trip now for stalk adaptor. clarion RCE-105w fits pre facelift not cheap at about

well we found the leak, pipework from dryer to evaporator, corrosion where bracket held pipe. nice cheep part from fords NOT.

im having mine done at the moment by A1 air con. there coming round tonight to check where its leaked from, (compressor area) i'll find out whether i need a new 1 or just some pipes. there mobile so will come to you and work outside normal hours for no extra charge. they coming round at 6pm :lol: i'll let u know how it goes, they were recommened by a garage owning godfather :D
