Hi my 2001 galaxy 2.3 auto has a air hissing noise at the brake pedal it stops when pressed and stars when you take foot off the brake but the brakes work very well no problems at all so hopeing it don't need a new master cylinder so hopeing someone might of had this problem before to tell me what it is or what to check

My 2.3 galaxy auto stated today and when put in drive it cut out and wouldn't start again it wouldn't even turn over I moved gear selector forward and back a couple of times then it started ok but driving home it wouldn't change up all the gears so I used the tiptronick gears ok after 10 mins put back to drive and all was working fine any ideas please
