  1. Could you tell me where to look for that wire you've mentioned? I've noticed some corrosion to this positive terminal, although I'm not sure what its for? It does head towards the alternator I think but its hard to see where its routed as it goes down and across the front of the block
  2. My 04 PD130 Alhambra failed to start this morning, the volt meter was showing approx 11v and as expected it was very very slow cranking and soon wouldnt turn over. I've had it 3+years and its never been lightening quick to spin over, however some days it does turn over fairly quick!! I put on a new battery about a year ago and it made no difference. Around that time I tried the battery off my other halfs Leon and that was just the same. I keep thinking its the battery, but I changed the fuel filter on saturday and it cranked over on the starter for ages until the diesel came though.... so I've essentially given the battery a capacity test doing that! So now I'm wondering is it the starter motor itself? But then why would the voltage be low? I'm wondering if there is a battery drain? When I get home from work tonight I'll measure the voltage, and then put the battery on charge, if it is a drain is there a common problem? I wouldnt even know where to start looking!
  3. I used to post on here but as my cars been trouble free for the last two years either I forgot my login details or the forums changed? Anyway I've re-registered to ask for some help! I've had my 2004 PD130 Alhambra for over 2 years, the clutch has always felt very heavy but it's never got noticeably worse. The clutch bites fairly low, not at the floor but a couple of cm up, I guess this is normal. Recently I've felt like I have to ensure the clutch pedal hits the stop of the floor before changing gear gently. As if the clutch isn't lifting enough, when its cold I have to be feel it into 2nd gear. It's almost like I require a little extra movement to fully disengage the clutch. Theres a little free play when I press on the pedal, but again I presume that's normal. Every now and again it feels like the clutch pedal hasn't come up quick enough either, I've felt it tap my foot on the return up. Not often just once or twice. I've just thought maybe I should see if theres any air in the clutch line, so I've just tried to bleed it. No air came out but I only did 2 depressions of the pedal as my other half said the clutch stayed at the floor and she had to pull it back up by hand. I thought somethings wrong so I didn't bother continuing. What's everyone's thoughts on this? I always thought it must be the slave cylinder but just trying to bleed it now, I'm suspecting a dodgy master cylinder in order for it to not return up during bleeding?
