Okay found the cables had been chopped off, and a hole that houses the sensor in the lower mudguard adjacent to the near side fog light. Sourced a sensor from a scrapped Sharan and fitted it, job sorted. :-) Temperature now reading on the climatronic.
Next sensor to track and fit. in the same loom as the MAF is another pair of cables which have been chopped off, suspect it is the air intake temperature sensor, need to locate where it fits on the air intake assembly, Will dismantle the air filter and hoses when the rain stops to try and see if a hole exists to connect and fit one.
