Hi Insider, thanks for your post is this the lambda sensor or another one and is this possibly caused by the maf being faulty, also the second air error is this also likely to be caused by the MAF -
thanks all finally sussed out this fault code B0414 is the maf sensor,cleared code retested result clear, disconnected maf and retested error B0414 appeared, so definitely know what this is now have put in new post so please read that if you can offer further assistance, many thanks DAZ

Hi all, thanks to those of you who responded to my cry for help with Diagnostic code B0414 have found this to be a faulty maf sensor What i was hoping was if you could browse the following and let me know what these might be.and whether they could be something to do with the MAF Sensor Fault which i have now verified. Stevoo, Got myself one of those readers and its still doing the same thing looked on the manufacturers disc at the DTC info but cant find B0414 on there at all How can they give a code and not tell you what it is thats plain stupid.Dont know what OMG is i think that was a string from another person fault on mine. going to have to get it read by proper VAG Com to get this one sorted i think. it hasnt given the MAF error so it cant be that, wanna by a V6 he! he! he! maybe its a gearbox ECU Code or something im completely lost now any ideas

Hi All, Finally goin to get the old Gal back on the road,I've charged the battery and the radio has got the " - - - - " i assume this is where you key in the code,i've looked through the paperwork i got with it and believe it or not ive chcked the radio booklet out by mistake i know it had the code in it as well, I've taken the radio out and please find here all the info that is on my radio Model 2007R RDS Cassette unit (CD Changer Compatible) Part No:95VW-18K876-KC ID No:FDZ7R3VL005004 CE:1996 Barcode:EAPA060247 This is From My V6 GAL ®

Just had a nice guy from the forum come and read my ecu with his Fault reader and was given a code cant find it anywhere can anyone help the code is B0414 i dont know if you need the manufacturer of the reader but what ever it was it was reset giving my Gal a whole new lease of life. This is the fault code reader used http://www.talktomycar.co.uk/Shop/Code_Readers/mj005.htm one site said its temperature sensor one said it was injector Valve B Still Querying MAF though can anyone verify for Gal 2.8 v6 auto ® big thanks to stevoo for popping round Darren

thanks mad baz have tried this but didnt work this is a problem since changing the coil pack it was running all lumpy this is now sorted but the revs are quite high and being auto its playing havoc with the gear changing. only other thing i can think of is the MAF there isnt a local fella with vagcom willing to do me a favour. -
can anyone tell me if the ecu can be reset i have heard that you can short it by running a wire to the body work does this work and is it safe.thanks in advance

Hi All, i dont believe i have asked this question before so here goes...... is there anyone within driving distance of croydon surrey, willing to pop round and run vag-com on my old gal.most of the people on the forum are from up north and could not get the car there to test it.it can be almost anytime really,but obviously weekends would be better. thanks in advance daz

If there is no dipstick how do i test the trannie oil This is a 97-98 model V6 not newer techtronics version any suggestions or pics please -
Can anyone tell me where to find the dipstick for the Autobox on my V6 Beast,problem changing gear, i've spent hours searching for the answer on the forums but cant find any info have replaced the following at little expense Fuel jet o'rings Coil pack And Thinking of cleaning the Maf sensor as i have found this can also cause the problem to appear but would like to check the fluid to make sure its not just low,had it tested and no fault was found with the box.there must be someone who has one of these in working order that can help... thanks in advance Daz

Hi All does anyone know how to check the oil level on a v6 Gal Autobox R Reg i've been flicking through the forum and have noticed there arent many suckers who own one of these and as haynes havent produced a manual cant suss it out, i've still got a problem with the gearbox labouring to drive and getting the odd jult or clunk when pulling away was hoping it was only oil level low. any ideas thanks in advance and thanks for the im's re stereo code got it solved thanks.....

Brakes Master Cylinder

brake servo,cost me 350 plus labour get your head i the footwell,behind the brake pedal you should have a consatina covering the master cylinder piston the seal is right up against the bulk head i this location look for a black seal if it is damaged the only reslove is a replacement master cylinder as they no longer make seal repair kits due to health and safety directive. not one you want to happen but it does. i have noticed with ford that all the expensive parts are the ones that go over time brake servo -

just had a similar issue with mine when it starts does the bang come from the front,if so you are getting blowout through the air box is the engine running really lumpy(when you sit in it it sounds like a tractor,if so its the ignition coil. 90 + vat and mine is now purring like a tiger -
Hi All, im back again after 6months got the old gal back on the road would like to thank mumof4 and nikV for all their support on my last visit got the old beast back on the road after some major issues now after having it off the road for so long i need to get the keycode for my stereo i refuse to pay anymore money out now and would appreciate it if someone can offer me a site where i can get the code FOC.or a way of gettting it from the forums here as the veterans are very clued up and generous with their knowledge... regARDS DAZ

Hi All, need some advice had the radiator hose and housing changed before hand i was loosing water from a huge split in the hose engine was fine..... took it to a garage and had it changed and the engine started out to be ever so slightly lumpy in the last couple of days it has got so bad the car is off the road there is a horrible whiff of petrol when starting up and it is so lumpy now that the car has an almost complete loss of power there is white smoke coming out of the exhaust along with a petrol smell when in neutral and revving to about 3k when driving there is no smoke but the petrol smell is still there......any help would be greatly appreciated...
