I had this on my galaxy mk2 1.9. I changed the alternator clutch pulley and the tensioner as the tensioner was bouncing because the clutch pulley was falling on the altenator. Hope this helps

Haha yes I did. Was well peeved with the local "expert" who had almost managed to convince me otherwise.

After all this it turned out to be the bloody condenser!!!

Have you checked the filter cap mate? I've just had a new condenser fitted. £226 all in including gassing etc. Mine had a leak in the filter housing on the condenser.

What do you mean by "imbalance"?

I've now also had top strut mounts, bearing and cup washers replaced. Still have a shake under harsh acceleration. Usually second gear...... Any help will be appreciated

are you sure you don't have a fault or split hose coming off the vacuum hoses/pump off the back of the vacuum pump/engine? I lost brakes on my gal due to a split hose off the vac pump

Pictures are long gone - its a 10 year old post I think alot of the old images got lost when the forum software got upgraded at some point. You might find a repost of the info on the mirez forum with some photos? probably sounds stupid but, what's mirez forum?

I believe the galaxy sharan and alhambra are all the same car. so it should do. if you know the model/part number. stick it in Google and double check.

I know mate. they came with the car. economy was sub 30s and it drove like a tank

had this on A vw caddy mate. check the vacuum hoses on the egr valve are ok. that's what caused it for me

I have a 1.9tdi on a 04 plate with 84k doing this. it has had:- clutch and dm flywheel complete set of drives shafts disks and pads all round front lower rear bushes new alloys new tyres drop links, roll restrictor and track rod ends seem ok with no play. any help would be appreciated. thanks You say youve had new tyres, but you may want to check the load rating of them. If they are underrated it causes all sorts of odd handling. If you want to check what you should have try a quote on blackcircles and compare to whats fitted, its the last bit (mine for example are 195/65 R15 95V, its the 95 bit that you want to check) The wrong rated tyres will also wear out quicker if that is the cause (they are normally referred to as an XL/Extra Load rated tyre by some places) 225/45/17 extra load. they are the correct rating as the ones I had on originally were run flats and not load rated. they were the first things to get changed.

hi thanks for your reply. the washers work. it was disconnected in the passenger side footwell when I got the car. fixed that on day one. no smells. will have to check drains. thanks again. will update once checked.

re your handbrake. just did mine 3 weeks ago. euro car parts do the cables cheap as chips. (for a 1.9tdi 130). the cable was seized inside the sheathing bit when you removed the cable it moved ok, or so it seemed. cleaned up and left it on. 2 weeks later buckled new rear Brembo discs and grooved the pads. swapped under warranty and renewed the handbrake cable (also cleaned the springs on the back of the caliper using brake cleaner and a good old wiggle and then doused in wd40 before fitting new discs and pads) and all has been ok since. the heat generated by the rear brakes binding actually melted the glue on the badges of my alloys and dropped a few sticky on weights off the passenger side rear wheel. hope this helps

hi. did we get to the bottom of this asite mine also does this and cabin filter was changed last year but still the same. ac doesn't work either.

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open. The fan should always be on if the ac is on. Turn the ac off and check the fan again. I had this problem before on a Vauxhall.
