Hi it's a 2l td. The switch illuminates. But even with the switch turned off there is still 12 volts at the plug?? Any ideas?

Hi guys Can't seem to fathom out this fault. Repairing a galaxy 53 plate AC but the compressor won't engage. Regassed ok pressure switch ok 12v to plug. Have tried direct feed from battery and compressor works. Is it the relay at fault? Before I start to get to it!!!! Hope you can advise Cheers Ian
