thanks for the reply. have sat and driven a mkiii and liked it - but it was on ebay and i was a bit nervous about bidding so I didn't get it. am off to see a 2007 mkIII in the morning - so we shall see - it seems pretty good value -

hi everyone, I was a long time owner of a Ford Mondeo mk II which I loved. It was mechanically very sound when I had to put it to rest in the great scrapyard in the sky. I am currently driving an old hand-me-down Merc estate, but need to get some more space and I have narrowed it down to the Galaxy for its 7 seat appeal (we've got 3 kids all in child seats and my wife wants another one!). I think that the S-Max looks good, but I was thinking that the Galaxy probably a bit roomier. So, having decided on a Galaxy, I'm torn between Mk II and Mk III - my wife is learning to drive and so I don't want to spend a lot on a car, but equally i don't like changing them that often. So, want something that will last (my Mondeo cost
