  1. Hi be wary, especially with mileage. A lot of diesels are used as cabs, then clocked. It is really easy to fiddle with the electronic mileage on a ford galaxy so insist on a HP check and a mileage check, and insist on a full service history just to satisfy yourself that youre not getting a car with a clobbered engine
  2. wd40 sprayed onto belt cures problem for a day - as shown to me by AA man. But the problem comes back so I think I will need to get the above looked at. I did take it to Ford, sadly they couldnt find the problem (the noise disappeard temporarily ) but they said they could hear noises in the alternator and quoted me
  3. cheers for that advice, and thanks to andeeh above as well. I am going to investigate
  4. Hi, Apologies if this has been asked before. For my make of car Id like to know what the size of my factory fitted Ford stereo is (in DINs) - I'm thinking of replacing/changing it. Details of my car is below. Cheers
  5. Mine was cool but not cold. So had it re-gassed and aircon serviced at specialist air con garage (not frauds). It now is cooler but still not cold :( I was expecting this model's air con to be ice cold. Is this a wrong assumption? My previous car (3 months ago) was a honda accord...and the air con on that was so nice and cold that even on a blistering hot day when you breathed, the exhaled air sometimes formed a mist. If only I could have a galaxy with a Honda Air Con - sweet!
  6. Mine does 70 miles for about
  7. I find that Admiral, Elephant, and diamond are all part of the same company. Yet the quotes I get online are
  8. morticiaskeeper: many thanks, you were right. On my model , LX, 2002, the correct tyre pressues are listed on the inside of the fuel fill flap. Result :D
  9. Thanks to all of you for all the advice, I shall check for this sticker which I didnt notice earlier - maybe I wasn't looking in the right place. :D Muchos gracis
  10. Im confused as to what amount of air my tyres need. The handbook says about 44 psi, but ford dealer man says maybe 38 psi or more. My tyres that came with the car are " 195 / 60R 16C " I dont want to damage my tyres or my safety by putting in the wrong air pressure. Anyone have the same size tyres ? muchos gracis
  11. Hi folks, Year 2002 galaxy, 14.200 miles on dash. On two (only two) recent occasions, following occured. Car was parked and not started for about 3 days. Turned engine on, after about 3 or 4 seconds, it died, engine management light came on and low oil sign. Then tried it again and it worked fine and car drove fine. The same happened again a few days later. So this worries me. I have checked oil, etc, it has been serviced recently, and car has low mileage. So I'm not sure if you guys have ever experienced anything similar. I have read the sticky FAQS and noticed some Relay 27's being mentioned but Im not sure if the problem is the same as what I describe above. Kind Regards sahar
  12. Thanks for that. I have since had the sensors bought off the web and a fitter they recommended did the job all inclusive for
  13. Hi, I've recently had my galaxy serviced after buying it about 10 days ago, it has 13000 miles on it and the previous owner only serviced it ONCE 3 years ago at about 3,500 miles! Anyway, mine is a DOHC engine as well and from what I know it is a chain driven one. Service intervals I'm told by Ford garage is 10,000 miles or every year whichever is sooner, its an annual service each year but every third year is a "Major service". I paid
  14. Just found out that Halfords will supply and fit parking sensors from
