  1. Although mine are red atm lol
  2. Awh gutted, this is only for vehicles upto ten years old, mines an '02 :-(
  3. It is a bit of a wrestle but you can take the bulkhead panel out with out removing anything else, I think I did move the air filter box cover out of the way but that's only 4 screws - easy ;-)
  4. I'm afraid I can't help with your issue but if you could post if you manage to sort the issue - is the problem intermittant? I seem to have intermittant ac, I'm assuming the pressure is good as when it does work it's really cold, the compressor is a bit noisy but nothing to bad, it's just 50:50 whether it will work at all! Iv not had a chance to get under mine and test for voltage at the compressor
  5. There's quite often people breaking cars, message them and ask for the specific bit you need ;-)
  6. Are you sure the handbrake isn't sticking on? I had this with mine when I first brought it and the handbrake mechanism on the passenger side was sticking on (only very slightly) after working some oil into the mechanism it now works a treat (doubt it's a permanent fix though!)
  7. Any car at the hands of someone who doesn't know them inside out is always going to be potentially a bad situation - the main dealers may be more expensive - but there is a reason for that - they know their own cars. I will be interested to hear if you get any money back, I have been in a similar situation to you before, but I just let it go, the way I see it I trust my garage - they always say "we think it's this that's causing the problem, it's going to cost this much, do you want us to try changing it?" If that's not what's causing the problem then at least it has been eliminated. This is why I have one back to fixing my cars myself (well, the bits I can anyway!)
  8. My old works van had a pre heater with a programmable timer it was so nice in the winter walking into a war nice free van at 8am! If my gal was diesel I would deffo be looking at putting a Time clock mod on the pre heater!
  9. Have you checked the battery yet? Sounds like it may be flat - enough power to light the lights and flick a relay but not enough power to start it...
  10. As soon as I read your reply I realised I should have know what MY stands for! Glad to hear the 2.3 is fair bomb proof :-)
  11. Hello, I have recently brought my first galaxy - a '02 2.3 Zetec I'm very pleased but do have a couple of questions, firstly, it was advertised as a 2002MY 2.3 Zetec, what does the MY stand for (if anything!?) Secondly, how come there don't seem to be many posts relating to the 2.3? It is a crap engine and it's not very popular!? Thirdly, the two things that I do miss from the old car (mondeo) are cruise control and trip computer with range, MPG etc, from reading on here I understand that cruise control is hard to retro fit on the 2.3 so maybe I will give that a miss, but I can't find much info about the trip computer, is it a simple as changing the instrument cluster and the wiper stalk? Thanks in advance for your help :-) Steve.
  12. Thanks for the great post - brought our first galaxy last weekend and thanks to you Iv just completed the first repair - let's hope it doesn't need repairing every weekend! :-/
