  1. I managed to get it back in by heating the pipe up to 100 degrees and pushing it in with a screw driver, I have just driven it for 60 miles up the A12 and a couple of national back roads, the temp gage sat straight on 90 and heater was nice and toasty, when I stopped and the level was as I had left it on the max mark, (rather than up by the cap) and when the cap was opened (with a rag of course) there was some pressure there but no where near as much as the amount it had when it overheated where the cap almost burst off after leaving it to cool for any hour.
  2. I had the cylinders pressure tested if that makes sense and all seems well, I know the previous owner had the failed plastic water pump and also the electric one had failed, had both changed and water seems to flow ok now and stay at the right temp without the restricter so now I have cleared it out I want to put it back onto a fresh pipe any help in how to get this back into the pipe would be appreciated
  3. Thank you il have to buy another pipe from fords if they know what I need
  4. Good evening everyone, this is my first post so please be nice I need some help, my car has been to the garage for 2 weeks had both water pumps changed and returned to me saying it was ok, anyway spent 3 hours last night on the A10 as yet again it has over heated but cold heater inside, so I asked our garage if they have changed the thermostat and they hadn't so seeing as I had nothing to loose and the water wasn't flowing through the expansion tank I spend 5 hours today fitting a new one the old one tested as faulty although not that old, the water pump is the metal type and is spinning ok, so I read somewhere about the T on the return pipes can get clogged and was amazed to find a small plastic re-stricter stuck in the middle of the return pipe, changed and low and behold every thing is working again heating and lots of air can out of the hose, now I am confused do I need to buy a new pipe with this bit in it or can I just leave it without it in and what are the dangers involved? Thank you for you time and look forward to hearing what to do next, if this part is the reason so many galaxy 1.9 have failed why have the made such a shoddy part? mine was completely clogged.
