  1. I thought there was a circuit going through the pad and when the pad wore low it broke the thin wire breaking the circuit and putting the warning light on. Hence twisting them together? Before i twisted them they were not touching and the light was still still on.
  2. Hi, Just the other day the brake pad warning light came in the car. It's a 2004 1.9tdi Galaxy. I have replaced the pads and disks recently and connected both front near and rear offside sensor cables up (i take it that's normal only having one sensor on the front and back?) and it was running grand, and all pads have still got loads of life left. I noticed the rear cable has snapped off. So i twisted this together and taped it up and assumed the light would go off? But no its still on. Has anyone got any ideas? Cheers Jordan
  3. Hi, Yeah i can check that actually I have a feeling its a 20 Amp fused wire that goes there and that might be high enough rating for what i need. If i can use this as the Constant live from the battery, i would still need to supply a switched live to that point? is there anything else in there that would be live after startup?
  4. Hi, I am looking to install a leisure batter in the boot of my Galaxy MK2. I have bought the kit and I am about to start fitting this weekend. The best plan for the relay wiring is to split the Battery Low Warning wire as will only be live then the ignition is on. Where would I find this wire? Or is there another option I could use? I am aiming to run the cables beside the rear water jet pipe which is under the trim in the passenger
  5. I have separated the plug i.e unplugged the rear wiring loom from the car side, and the contact pins inside look nice and shiny. I can't see a way of looking inside each half of the plug if that makes sense, as i dont think its meant to be split. I might remove the rear loom from the car completely and see if i can find a wire that is not showing a resistance from the connection block to each of the three sensor pins. That might indicate a break. Also i can do it in the garage as its freezing out there. If this all tests OK, i might then cut that joining plug off both the car side and the other half on the rear loom side and hard wire it back together. If that still doesn't work (assuming as i had ticking from the sensors before fiddling with the wires) i can only assume its the wiring that goes in to the chassis. This is where i might have to stop and maybe get it re-wired from the control unit bypassing this. Does this make sense? I will take pictures and post them later before i snip anything off though.
  6. Thats what i am thinking but the plug looks really clean with no rust visible. Some one has been in there before though as the wiring at that pug has been cut a lot shorter and its really right with a lot of black tape about. Is there a way to split that plug to check? or should i cut the plug off and just join the wires together first? that would be slightly quicker than taking the entire rear loom out and test each wire.
  7. Hi again, I am looking for some guidance. The rear parking sensors on my 04 Galaxy stopped working a few months ago and i have decided to try and fix them. After the usual tests of listening for ticks, the rear drivers side sensor was dead. I got a new sensor and after a wee wiggle i noticed it started working. It only worked on and off for a few minutes so a had a wiggle at the main connector that comes out from under the car. This stopped it working again completely and i can only hear 2/4 sensors clicking now. I am now sure that there is a broken wire but i am not sure where. I am going to take the rear loom out completely and do a continuity test on all wires coming from the rear connector to all sensors (12 wires but some are shared). If that works then it has to be the wiring under the car. I want to split the connector and check that there are no shorts in the plug that joins to the rear loom but i cant figure out how to do that? I have a feeling that if its not a wire in the rear loom then i might have to re-run new wiring from the main unit to the rear sensors and that might be beyond me. Am I doing the right things? or am i missing an easy check? Cheers Jordan
  8. Ah brilliant thanks guys. Will order it now.
  9. Thanks for your reply. Its safe to say mine doesn't have that. Can i get a replacement part or is this going to be a scrappy job? I guess this is not what i am looking for for a 2004 MK2 https://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_galaxy_2000-2006_rear_window_washer_jet_f_1331448_c_520.htm
  10. Hi, My Galaxy rear washer is working but it doesn't seem to spray on the window. It looks to me like there might have been a little nozzle reducer in the washer hole that might have forced the water to spray and not just scoot straight out. Any ideas? Does this make sense? Cheers Jordan
