  1. Well the garage came back. They had the car all day and could not get the car to not start. Then just after I called to get a progress update they said theyve just got it not to start and checking out why. They then said I need to replace the starter motor...200 quid plus 60 quid labour. I've phoned around this morning about getting relay 30 changed but nobody knew what I was talking about. I have tried different things to try and mimic the issue and I get the same behaviour when I put the car in park or neutral and then try and start. Sounds like it wants to turn over but won't. To me it sounds like it could be this starter inhibitor switch that's faulty or lose? Is there an easy way to check this?? Btw I have to agree with other members...just brilliant advice and suggestions given on this site.
  2. Aaaah...I've search the forum here and seen a lot of other Galaxy owner with the same problem, which is solved by replacing or resoldering relay 30? I've actually take my car into the garage today to see if they could tell me what the problem is. Will be interesting to see what they say but hoping it's just a case of the fault relay. Thanks very much BrianH
  3. Hi there Sorry, was the question about Relay 30 for me? :-) Mine is a petrol engine.
  4. Hi there Would a jerky gear box cause issues where occasionally the car won't start? I have the same issue with voilent changing of gears. Recently I have had issue where if I go for a long-ish drive and then turn the car off and try and start it again, nothing happens. Sometimes if I turn the key and hold the key in the starting position it might start. If it I leave it over night it will start fine. Should I firstly get the ATF topped up and then see if the starting issues goes away? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2002 Ford Galaxy 2.9liter Automatic Thank you..
