Hi Please help. I have a ford galaxy that has been standing for over 12 month because of starting issues and I can't find anyone to help me. The problem first started intermittently. Occasionally I would turn the key and the car would just turn over and not fire up. I would lock unlock the doors a few times and it would fire up and off to go and that would be it for a while. Gradually the problem got worse and then the car cut out on me on 2 different occasions and refused to restart no matter how much I fiddled with the locks, Just turned over. The only key I have for it does not remotely control the locking but has a button on it which used to have a little light (like a little torch but that no longer works) The drivers door lock is faulty and sticks or just doesn't work so I used to try and just open the car from the passenger side. I Read on one of these forums that I should have a look at the alarm light on the door and after 2 minutes it will flash out a sequence - the sequence was 6:2 which I believe is a communication error between the pats and the ecu?? Also just to further complicate things, my son who is a trainee mechanic tried to jump start the car to have a fiddle and crossed the terminals blowing a few fuses and the central locking stopped working altogether - the car started perfectly every single time. He has since replaced all the blown fuse/s and now the car will not start at all again. I have read about relay 30 etc and the possibility of the central locking module being under the passenger seat and flooded etc but I can't help thinking the problem is centred around that faulty driver door central locking (a new issue is that when you lock/ unlock the car the front windows open???) Do I admit defeat and scrap the car - other than this issue it i PS we tried changing the starter motor - it didn't help
