Oh and I would imagine getting the oem system retro fitted is going to be pricey.

I fitted a parrot mki9200 into mine. http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits/parrot-mki9200/ You need a Ford specific SOT lead but basically it's just a case of taking the radio out, plugging it in and getting the wires pulled through. A bit tricky but not too hard.

Cooling Fan On When I Turn Car Off
moog999 replied to csj's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
My previous 2.3 did this. It would keep the fans running and flatten the battery. I replaced the fan relay and that sorted it. -
I've got the cd6000 in my 2006 galaxy (square facia but same innards I think). It's just a case of pressing the aux button and off you go. Sounds like you'll have to remove the head unit and check the connections at the rear are all OK. Make sure you have the radio code first though.

Hi, well I got the key and had a chat with someone who could cut it for me. He was concerned that the blade on such a cheap item might fail at some point and wouldn't guarantee it would be OK. In the end I decided not to bother and sent it back. But, it really is a pain in the arse have the key blade exposed. In rethinking whether to give it a go after all. Looked dead easy to swap the innards from my existing key into the one linked to. No coding needed.

I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago. BBought a mk3 2.0 tdci.... It's a massive, massive improvement, and the climate control is frosty!

Hi guys, Traded my mk2 2.3 petrol last week for a mint 2007 mk3 2.0 TDCI last weekend and (all being well) pick it up on sat morning. I was just wondering iif it was possible to somehow convert the existing fixed key into a flip key, I find they sit in your pocket much more comfortably. The car has 2 keys like this http://carkeyfob.co.uk/image/cache/data/FORD/Ford%20replacement%20key%20case%20HU100-640x480.jpg Is it possible to buy one of the flip keys and swap out the immobiliser chip or something? You can get blank keys like this for not much money http://www.carkeyhelp.co.uk/product_images/o/849/Ford-Focus-3-button-remote-with-flip-key-FO101T-2__07615_zoom.jpg I might have answered my own question actually. Just ordered one of these http://cobracartech.co.uk/ford-replacement-key-fobs-cases/290-ford-focus-fiesta-mondeo-c-max-s-max-galaxy-3-button-conversion-kit-to-flip-kit.html Assume that the innards of the existing key goes into this and then just a matter of getting the blade cut. We'll see anyway, if it's crap then I'll send it back.

I've literaaly just now had a mobile air con engineer out to mine. Diagnosed a leak in this pipe at the bracket where it's held to the car - accumulation of crud causes the pipe to corrode. Also leak found on the top left hand of the condenser. Quoted approx

Air Con Pump Replacement
moog999 replied to niall1001's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Got to ask yourself why the pump was removed though. Be prepared for putting a replacement on, gassing it up and it failing somewhere else. Expect the worst, hope for the best! -
Plenty of good reports re kwikfit on pistonheads thought, for a bit of balance. If your up near Leeds Google for "cool drive" he's a mobile auto hvac engineer, ex forces mech engineer and it brilliant with air con servicing and repairs.

Your front brakes are bigger because they do most of the braking. On deceleration the vehicle mass pitches forward over the front of the car hence more powerful rotors needed at the front. Pulling to either side is very likely a duff caliper as you state, get it looked at ASAP.

Cruise Control On Petrol Engined Models
moog999 replied to ridway's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi, Can anyone tell me where this pipe should ultimately terminate please?? Also, this thread mentions being able to hear relay clicking noises when turning on the CC switch.....under what conditions does this happen on yours, is the engine running or just ignition "on"...I can't hear anything obvious. Cheers. -
Hi Clive, Are you referring to this?? If so then I've just has a look and it's a ribbed plastic fastener of some sort, not a pipe termination. Earlier in the thread is was mentioned that the air con drain is a short rubber pipe coming out of the bulkhead so I'm fairly sure that it is supposed to be just open ended, like it is now. I think what has happened is that when I bought the car it was agreed the garage would fix the cruise control as a condition of sale. They messed me about over it for 2 weeks as they couldn't get it working. I suspect the numpty trying to get it going has tried sticking random pipes in any possible orifice, got bored and left it where it was. They did issue me with a new pump and

Right, I'm pretty sure I've cracked it. In this image you can see the large diameter dark patch....Just to the right is a short length of pipe with a smaller dia pipe going into it? A gentle tug on that pipe saw it pop out and half a cup full of clear condensate poured out. That pipe was actually plumbed back into the cruise control vaccum pump! Now it looks thus...that is what an air con drain pipe looks like!! That's it with the air con blowing on low, there is a steady weep from the pipe, indicating my air con works fine and the water in the car was this overflowing. This then leaves the question of where the bloody hell should that cruise control pipe terminate. In this pic you can see where I have disconnected the pipe from the male nipple coming off the pump. The pipe out of the car looks like this Virtual pint for anyone that can tell me where that should terminate?? It'd be lovely to get my cruise up and running.

So it's been fine since I last posted then yesterday it happened again. Driving along happily when all of a sudden my left foot is soaking wet. Going to put a new pollen filter in later so will check again for any blockages. Seriously considering getting rid and upgrading to a mk3. I can't be arsed with it anymore.

I've got a cruise control vac pump taken from a 2.3 petrol manual galaxy. Tested with 12v to terminals and works fine, some superficial blemishes to housing but internally in excellent condition. NOTE: with reference to picture 2 - I have drawn red line on the image where you will need to connect a small length of rubber tubing from the brass vacuum release fitting to the black "T" piece - any bit of tubing will do the job, the one on there had been damaged. The rear cover just prises off to get to the fitting - if I can find a bit of tubing kicking about the place I'll stick some back on.

You were quite correct. Panel came out with a bit of persuasion and there was a fair old accumulation of leaves and crud in there. Cleared it out and flushed through with a hosepipe and drains nicely from above both wheel liners now. Maybe that was contributory? Still no more water out of the vent anyway so that's all good! Oh and there is nothing that I can feel behind that circular grommet thing, it popped out easy enough to reveal the metal bulkhead behind it....nowt there. Had a mess about with my cruise control pump and pipework too. Managed to get it to work for the first time since I got the car (6m ago). Long story short but I bought it on the understanding the garage would fix it, they messed me about so ended up giving me some money back and giving me a replacement vac pump.....different topic for a different thread anyway but it workede like a charm on the way to the shops - then nothing on the way home..buggerit. Thanks for the input anyway folks, very helpful.

Thanks for the help chaps...I haven't had use of the car at all this week but my reports it's remained dry. I'll check the scuttles but if you look at this pic vs this one (from the faq post) http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/post-62-1076069920.jpg Doesn't look like I've got a "bulkhead extension"?
-
I've not had chance to check today but I drove it yesterday and guess what, no more water! My Mrs has been out all day in it today and also reported her left foot to be dry, there's no evidence of any new water from the vent and the carpet is pretty much dried out. In my book I would class that as being "f%&(ing weird!!" :) Oh and it's been driven with the air con set to "auto" (as usual) we also had some properly torrential rain yesterday too so it doesn't appear to be weather related. Just going to watch and wait on this one then, if it recurs and starts to be a significant issue then I'm going to chop it in for a 3-4yr old Galaxy/S-Max. I'll still have a poke around that grommet later anyway, thanks for the help.
